Billy Porter has shared a cover of Juliet Roberts’ Nineties dance classic, “Caught in the Middle,” from the upcoming charity compilation, Red Hot + Free, out July 2nd.
Compiled by the organization Red Hot, the compilation will benefit marginalized communities dealing with HIV and AIDS (Porter himself recently revealed that he has been HIV positive for 14 years). It is a sequel of sorts to Red Hot’s 1992 comp, Red Hot + Dance, which featured George Michael, Madonna, Seal and more.

Spoiler Alert: The following piece has spoilers pertaining to tonight’s season 2 finale of HBO’s The Deuce, “Inside the Pretend”.
At a time when the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements are raising global awareness about women’s issues including sexual harassment, violence and female equality, HBO’s porn-industry drama series The Deuce walks a tightrope.
To call the series audacious in regards to its presence on TV amid today’s zeitgeist would be an understatement, both in the show’s drama and behind-the-scenes dilemma.
Well before The New York Times‘ Oct. 5, 2017 sexual allegation
exposé on studio mogul Harvey Weinstein reignited #MeToo, The Deuce was on the air, halfway through its eight episode first season order. But then following January’s Golden Globes, sexual misconduct accusations were made against The Deuce star and Ep James Franco (not connected with his work on the series). Nonetheless, The Deuce proceeded with a second season,...

65 years ago today, readers were transported to Narnia with the Pevensie children for the first time as C.S. Lewis’ “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” hit the shelves of bookstores in England. The classic children’s fantasy novel was published on October 16, 1950. It was the first of Lewis’ seven Narnia books to be released and to be written, though it became volume 2 in recent editions of the series, sequenced chronologically according to Narnia history, putting “The Magician’s Nephew” first. Lewis wrote “Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe” over the course of 10 years, at the same time his dear friend J.R.R. Tolkien was working on “The Lord of the Rings.” The two Brits frequently met on Monday mornings to talk about writing. Ultimately, though, Tolkien was critical of the Narnia books. There’s much speculation as to why the “Hobbit” scribe had a negative reaction to his friend’s fantasy series.

Burbank – Chat Fatigue is coming.
Forget swine flu (or H1N1); Chat Fatigue will be the sickness that will overtake millions this fall. The group most susceptible to this are NBC viewers. Now that Jay Leno will be taking over the 10 p.m. slot from Monday to Friday (starting Sept. 14) on the Peacock network, viewers will get four hours of people sitting behind desks and talking directly to the camera.
Can the average viewer really handle going from Leno to local news to Conan O’Brien to Jimmy Fallon to Carson Daly? How many guys in suits and ties sitting behind a desk do you want to experience after an 8 hours of work day with guys in suits and ties sitting behind desks? They’re all going to stare at you through the boob tube and jibber jabber. Kinda like the doofus with the desk next to you at work.
