In Wendy McMahon’s first major executive hire since the CBS News chief took oversight of CBS Media Ventures, she has brought in veteran producer and development executive Stacy Rader as SVP, First-Run Development and Brand Extensions at CBS Media Ventures.
In her new role, Rader, who will be based in New York, will work with senior leadership to create and coordinate Cmv’s content strategy across platforms.
She succeeds Elaine Bauer Brooks, who departed her post as EVP, Development and MultiPlatform Content at CBS Media Ventures in August after nine years at the company on the heels of CBS Media Ventures President Steve LoCascio’s retirement amid a corporate restructuring that saw the division become part McMahon’s portfolio.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ 2002 interview on “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” resurfaced on social media after the two actors apologized for writing letters of support for Danny Masterson ahead of his sentencing for rape. In the viral clip, Kunis reveals that Masterson once bet Kutcher $10 to French kiss her while filming an episode of their Fox sitcom “That ’70s Show.” The actors are in good spirits about the incident, but the clip has amassed over four million views and counting in the days after Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life for rape.
“She was 14 when we started the show. I was 19,” Kutcher says in the 2002 interview. “And they were like, ‘You guys are going to be making out in this scene.’ And I’m thinking, ‘Wait, this is slightly illegal.'”
“I’ve never kissed a guy,” Kunis adds. “I was a 14-year-old little girl and I was extremely scared for my life.

Chrissie Bixler outed herself as one of Danny Masterson’s victims in November 2017. She joined actress Bobette Riales and two anonymous women in filing a lawsuit against Masterson and the Church of Scientology in 2019, and on Saturday posted a series of interviews with Ashton Kutcher in which he revealed Masterson bet him $10 to French kiss a then-14-year-old Mila Kunis when Kutcher was 19.
By the time the first episode of “That ’70s Show” aired, putting together Kutcher and Kunis as then-fictional love interests, Kutcher was 20.
One of the clips is from a 2002 episode of “The Rosie O’Donnell Show,” where Kutcher and Kunis appeared together. Kutcher admitted to O’Donnell that he and Kunis were told they would be kissing a lot, and he wondered if “this is slightly illegal” due to Kunis’ age.

The Season 2 premiere of “And Just Like That” opens with a montage with the three main characters — Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) — engaged in intimate acts with their respective lovers. And while the latter two appear in states of complete undress, Carrie does not.
Parker has talked openly about her “no nudity” stance in her career which dates back to her breakout role on “And Just Like That” predecessor “Sex and the City.” Davis, Nixon and Kim Cattrall all appeared nude on the show — which ran from the late ’90s to early ’00s on HBO — but Parker never did.

Rosie O’Donnell still isn’t in a great place with Ellen DeGeneres after the latter denied being friends with her.
O’Donnell told The Hollywood Reporter how the pair were among the young entertainers in Hollywood going to parties together all those years ago, so it was weird when DeGeneres said they weren’t pally.
The comedian shared of what the dynamic was like between her and DeGeneres as “two rising comics in the scene,” “It was a good relationship. We were friends. We supported each other. Which is why when she came on my show, I said, ‘Let me not have you standing there by yourself. Let’s get a joke in there.’ And we sat down and came up with that, ‘Oh my God, I love Casey Kasem. Maybe I’m Lebanese.’ It became a big thing.”

Kevin Fortson, the Executive Vice President of Production & Administration for Warner Bros. Unscripted Television, will retire this summer after three decades with the studio.
“For the past 30 years, Kevin has been an indelible part of Warner Bros,” said Mike Darnell, President, Warner Bros. Unscripted Television. “His name has literally become synonymous with the company and the lot itself. Personally, I will miss him for his counsel, his friendship and his endless string of dad jokes. He truly is one in a million … although he would probably try to cut that budget down! He is as important to the studio as any movie or television show ever produced here, and if I had the power to do it, there would be a stage with his name on it, right next to Friends and The Big Bang Theory. It’s hard to believe that over the 19 years The Ellen DeGeneres Show was on the air, Rosie O’Donnell was never a guest. (Jennifer Aniston was on 20 times! Justin Bieber a whopping 27!) So why was it that the comedian-actress never made her way to Ellen’s couch? The two have a lot in common as veterans of daytime television, with O’Donnell hosting The Rosie O’Donnell Show from 1996-2002, and as fellow openly gay comedians. So it’s a bit odd to consider O’Donnell never joining DeGeneres as a guest, and we found out exactly why when O’Donnell was a guest on Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen this week. When Cohen read a fan-submitted question asking why O’Donnell never appeared on Ellen show, the American Gigolo star revealed that, years ago, DeGeneres hurt her feelings. “We had a little bit of a weird thing, and...

Rosie O’Donnell has explained why she was never really friends with Ellen DeGeneres after the presenter “hurt her feelings”.
DeGeneres famously appeared on The Rosie O’Donnell Show in 1996, where she alluded to rumours that she was a lesbian before publicly coming out on Ellen.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (15 September), host Andy Cohen asked O’Donnell why she was never asked to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show herself.
“We had a little bit of a weird thing, after my show went off the air and hers was coming on the air,” O’Donnell explained.
“Larry King was on with Ellen and he said, ‘What ever happened to Rosie O’Donnell? Her show went down the tubes! She came out as a lesbian and disappeared!’”
She continued: “And Ellen said, and I’m quoting, ‘I don’t know Rosie. We’re not friends.’”

Rosie O’Donnell revealed why she’d never been on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in its 20-year run as she chatted to Andy Cohen on Thursday’s “Watch What Happens Live”.

DeGeneres had gone on “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” back in 1996, where she revealed her character was going to come out as “Lebanese,” months before she famously came out as gay on her “Ellen” sitcom.

“I’m so sweaty. I’m gonna roll these Spanx off,” Kelly Clarkson exclaims in front of a live audience at Lincoln Center, having just belted out Mary J. It’s one thing to grapple with having been a one-hit wonder, and another when that singular smash may have given the world a wrong impression of what you were all about … or just represented a moment in which selling out was quickly succeeded by flaming out. These are some of the matters troubling former Chumbawamba frontman Dunstan Bruce’s mind in “I Get Knocked Down,” wherein the singer takes part as narrator, co-director, primary subject and putative conscience of a swept-aside alt-rock generation. His intention with the film is to beat himself up a little and find some redemption, proceeding from the assumption that having been responsible for 1997’s globally massive “Tubthumping” is not its own eternal reward.
“I Get Knocked Down” — named for a line in the chorus of “Tubthumping,” which will be instantly familiar to just about anyone sentient in the late ’90s — quickly emerges out of...

Kelly Clarkson won Best Entertainment Talk Show Host at the 2020 Daytime Emmys for “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” and this year the series took off with eight bids in the first round of nominations, which were announced on May 25. Not only is she likely to win for hosting again according to the combined predictions of Gold Derby users so far, she’s favored to take Best Entertainment Talk Show as well. With “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” ending its run in 2022, is this the start of a new talk show dynasty in daytime?
Over the years the Daytime Emmys have usually been dominated by one talk show personality or another. “Donahue” won six times in nine years between 1978 and 1986. The Actors Fund has distributed a record-breaking $10.5 million over the past eight weeks to provide emergency financial assistance for performing arts and entertainment workers in need due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Fund reported today. The figure reflects more than five times the amount typically distributed by the Fund in an entire year.
Brian Stokes Mitchell, actor and Chairman of the Board of The Actors Fund, said, “Looking at a number – even one as large as 10 million – doesn’t begin to tell the whole story. In an instant, our friends and supporters, people like Rosie O’Donnell, Seth Rudetsky & James Wesley and others, began dreaming of entirely new fundraising models that would prove to be nothing short of lifesaving. In all my years working with The Fund, I’ve never been so moved, so inspired, or so grateful.”

The trailers for upcoming HBO miniseries “I Know This Much is True” advertise, “Academy Award nominee Mark Ruffalo, Academy Award winner Melissa Leo, Emmy winner Rosie O’Donnell, Emmy winner Archie Panjabi, with Academy Award nominee Juliette Lewis and Emmy winner Kathryn Hahn.” With such a deep bench and Ruffalo the Best Movie/Limited Actor front-runner for his dual role as twins Dominick and Thomas Birdsey, “I Know This Much is True” is a formidable contender for a Best Movie/Limited Supporting Actress nomination, but for which star?
SEEour rundown on the “Mrs. America” supporting actresses.
Honorable mention: Juliette Lewis as Nedra Frank
Nedra is a scholar whom Dominic hires to translate an Italian manuscript for an autobiography by his late grandfather. Anyone who tunes into the premiere might want to nominate Lewis, who is unhinged and unpredictable in an uncomfortable nine-minute scene when she shows up unexpectedly at Dominic’s door one night.

When all this is over, one of the enduring cultural moments of the coronavirus pandemic will be the memories of the music. Across the world, people have been turning to music for comfort and community. Clips have gone viral of Italians holding nightly singalongs from their balconies and Spaniards jamming out together from a distance. And here in America, the performing arts community has been coming together to produce all sorts of remote content. The most high-profile of these to date is the one-off 'revival' of The Rosie O'Donnell Show, which streamed live on Sunday, Mar. 22. It was a testament to the power of community and the humor of technical problems.

We haven’t seen the last of Rosie O’Donnell — as a talk show host, that is.
The funny lady tells Variety that the one-night-only return of “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” on Sunday may have just been the beginning of her talk show comeback.
The stand-alone show, broadcast on Broadway.com and the website’s YouTube channel, raised $600,000 for The Actors Fund. Produced by “Madam Secretary” star Erich Bergen, the event featured dozes of guests including Patti LuPone, Ben Platt, Kristin Chenoweth, Billy Porter, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Chita Rivera, Darren Criss and many more.
Variety caught up with O’Donnell on Monday afternoon to talk about her return, why she wasn’t bothered by the show’s audio problems and the possibility of more fundraising shows with guests like Barbra Streisand.
Congrats on a great show. You raised more than $600,000.
It was so fun. We raised so much money. I’m so glad it all worked out.
