Kenan Thompson has talked about his time working with Dan Schneider at Nickelodeon for the first time since the release of the documentary Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.
The veteran Saturday Night Live cast member worked on Schneider-produced shows All That and its spinoff series, Kenan & Kel, in the 1990s.
During Wednesday’s Tamron Hall Show, he talked about his experience now that the documentary has blown the lid off the situation (Thompson’s comments on it start at 6:30 in the above video.)
“It’s tough. It’s a tough subject, you know?” Thompson said. “It’s tough for me because I can’t really speak on things that I never witnessed, you know what I’m saying? Because all these things happened after I left, basically.”
He continued, “Dan wasn’t really on Kenan & Kel like that,” he said. “I mean, he got a ‘created by’ credit,...

Kenan Thompson has opened up about his time as a child star at Nickelodeon and the new perspective he has gained on it following the release of “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” a new documentary series that features allegations of abuse against crew members at the network.
Thompson’s comments came Wednesday during an interview on the daytime talk show “Tamron Hall,” touching on his new production banner Afa, his record-breaking tenure on “Saturday Night Live” and his new memoir “When I Was Your Age.”
Thompson got started as a child performer, though, serving as an original cast member of the teenage-cast sketch show “All That” and starring alongside his peer Kel Mitchell in the sitcom “Kenan & Kel” and the feature film “Good Burger,” all of which were produced by Nickelodeon. During the interview with Hall, Thompson confirmed that he has not watched “Quiet on Set,...

Kenan Thompson is speaking out following the shocking allegations on Nickelodeon sets revealed in the Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV docuseries.
The actor and comedian, who previously rose to fame following his roles on Nickelodeon shows Kenan & Kel and All That in the late ’90s and early 2000s, recently opened up about his experience on the sets as well as gave his support for those who shared their personal stories in the doc.
“It’s a tough subject because, it’s tough for me because I can’t really speak on things that I’ve never witnessed,” Thompson said on Wednesday’s episode of the daytime talk show Tamron Hall. “You know what I’m saying? Plot: Former child stars from Nickelodeon look back on their time with the network, sharing troubling stories about their relationship with programming guru Dan Schneider.
Review: I must admit to complete ignorance regarding Nickelodeon’s empire of kids’ programming from the ’90s and 2000s. For one thing, I was born in ’81, so by the time these shows got popular, I was too old. For another, I’m Canadian and we don’t have Nickelodeon here. I remember when Good Burger came out in 1996, I had no idea why it was considered such a big deal, as I’d never heard of Kenan and Kel. Yet, over the last decade or so, working in the entertainment journalism sphere, I couldn’t help but hear a lot of whispers about Dan Schneider, the producer who ran a mini-empire of kids programming on the network.

TV producer Dan Schneider has issued a new response to an Investigation Discovery docuseries that uncovers the toxic and dangerous culture on the sets of his Nickelodeon children’s shows in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The first two installments that dropped Sunday were meant to reveal “an insidious environment rife with allegations of abuse, sexism, racism, and inappropriate dynamics with its underage stars and crew,” according to ID.
The next two episodes air tonight.
“Dan expected and asked a lot from his teams,” according to a statement obtained by Deadline. “They worked long hours and consistently made successful shows. In the challenges of production, Dan could get frustrated at times, and he understands why some employees found that intimidating or stressful. In a career spanning 30+ years, Dan worked with thousands of people, many of whom still tell him how much they enjoyed and appreciated working on his shows.

Apple TV+ has added more than 50 licensed movies included in the price of the subscription service — the streamer’s biggest collection of back-catalog studio content to date. But the third-party titles will only be available for a limited time.
Apple TV+’s lineup has mostly comprised original series, movies and specials commissioned for the platform (as well as a smattering of live MLB games). Now it has added a bouquet of older film favorites to the mix, including popular and award-winning movies like “Titanic,” “300,” “Argo,” “Black Hawk Down,” “The Bodyguard,” “Jurassic World,” “Gravity,” “Fast & Furious 6,” “Kill Bill” Volume 1 and 2, “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” the original 2004 “Mean Girls” and “Zoolander.”
The movies are listed in a new section on the service labeled “Great Movies on Apple TV+” — however, the service notes, these are available for a “limited time.

The move could signal a shift in strategy by Apple to finally incorporate more library titles into its catalog.
Is Apple TV+ finally getting non-original titles in its streaming library? Yes, at least temporarily, at any rate, as the streamer has added a total of 51 movies to its streaming catalog, spanning every genre and including some true blockbusters. Apple stresses that these titles will only be available for a limited time, but it could be providing a glimpse into its own future with the additions. Having long focused on high-quality originals without the studio archives or licensing library of its competitors, Apple V+ has been a somewhat different type of streamer since it launched in November 2019.
Titles available on Apple TV+ include “Star Trek,” “Kill Bill,” “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” “300” and more. Each movie will only be available on the streamer until March or April. Apple has resisted offering library titles before,...

Two Saturday Night Live legends, Pete Davidson and Eddie Murphy, are joining forces for The Pickup, an upcoming comedy directed by Tim Story. The project hails from Amazon MGM Studios, with plot details remaining a mystery. Smoke on the street says The Pickup is a heist comedy with a script by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows.
In addition to his directorial duties, Story produces through his The Story Company banner, with Davis Entertainment’s John Davis and John Fox, and Murphy and Charisse Hewitt-Webster via Eddie Murphy Productions. The Story Company’s Vicky Mara Story, Davis Entertainment’s Jeremy Stein, and Kevin Burrows, Ross Fanger, and Matt Mider executive produce.
When he’s not the subject of paparazzi fodder or changing dating partners like fresh pairs of underwear, Davidson appears in films like Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Fast X, Dumb Money, and Good Burger 2. He recently completed his role for The Home.

During an interview on The Today Show, Kenan shared that they had a “falling out” before collaborating on Good Burger 2.
“It was more of a separation that kind of grew into the traditional terms of what a falling out is, which is, like, not a lot of communication,” he reflected. “Originally, it was just us kind of looking for our own individualism, basically, as adults, taking a breather from being a duo because we both came into the game as individuals.

5 Times Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark Was Not A Self-Centered Snob Like Others Perceive Him (Picture Credit: Facebook & IMDb)
Robert Downey Jr has ruled our hearts with his fantastic portrayal of Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tony’s character was described beautifully by the man himself in The Avengers in 2012. He is a genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist, but Captain America Steve Rogers’s response to this called him selfish. Not just in this movie time and again, Tony has been perceived as a self-centered and narcissistic human being. But is that all?
Tony turned out to be one of the most loved MCU characters, mainly because of Rdj. The MCU started its journey with Iron Man in 2008, and since the first film, he has proved that Tony is not just an egomaniacal; he has a heart, too. After 26 years, there's actually a sequel to Nickelodeon's '90s comedy "Good Burger." Based on a sketch from "All That," the movie took the lovably dimwitted Good Burger employee Ed (Kel Mitchell) to the big screen and paired him with co-star Kenan Thompson for a zany caper about two competing burger joints. It has all the hallmarks of a classic screwball comedy from the 1980s, and believe it or not, it's still genuinely funny to this day. So how do you pick up the spatula again after so many years?
We spoke with "Good Burger 2" writers Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert and director Phil Traill leading up to the release of the sequel, which is now available on Paramount+, and we talked about returning to the franchise. Millennials rejoice! 26 years later, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are once again serving up fast-food morsels in the achingly-awaited "Good Burger 2." Folks who grew up on Nickelodeon's kid-friendly sketch comedy series "All That" have been clamoring for a return to the chaotically unclean confines of Good Burger, and now that it's here, I'll let those whose satiric sensibilities were partially formed by the original pass judgment on the quality of the sequel.
I do, however, know Sinbad. A comedic force of nature, I first saw the man rack up multiple wins on the Ed McMahon-hosted talent competition "Star Search" in the 1980s. I remember watching him besting a young Dennis Miller; this bothered me at the time, but considering Miller's career trajectory, I am firmly in Sinbad's camp. After all, who else possessed the bravery to ask which part of the chicken produced the Chicken McNugget?

Arriving a whopping 26 years after 1997’s cult-favorite Nickelodeon comedy, “Good Burger 2” fits the streaming-era trend in which audiences seek a nostalgia bump reconnecting with old favorites, like “Coming to America” or “Hocus Pocus” — not exactly classics so much as modest pleasures from more innocent times. In this obnoxiously unfunny followup from Paramount+, stars Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson return as hapless fast food employees. To update the story to 2023, director Phil Traill and screenwriters Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert add a few new characters and a tiresome AI plot, winding up with a Thanksgiving diversion that functions just fine playing in the background as families gather for their holiday meals.

Kel Mitchell was all smiles at the Good Burger 2 premiere in New York on Monday night, just days after he experienced a “genuinely frightening” medical incident.
The actor seemed to be in good spirits at the Regal Union Square event, where he was accompanied by wife Asia Lee-Mitchell and their children, with Kel and Asia carrying their excited kids down the carpet.
Later, when Mitchell’s longtime onscreen collaborator and Good Burger 2 co-star Kenan Thompson arrived, one of Mitchell’s kids ran straight to Thompson, who gave the child a hug.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter before the screening of the Paramount+ sequel, Mitchell insisted he’s “good,” something he’s said multiple times since the health scare.
But he also shared some perspective on the incident and indicated that he was happily persevering.

Over 25 year after Nickelodeon brought us the tasty screwball comedy "Good Burger," Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are cooking again with a sequel coming to Paramount+ this month. "Good Burger 2" finds the burger boys reunited when Dexter Reed's (Thompson) entrepreneurial spirit is crushed by a poorly conceived invention that puts him out of business, so he ends up working with his old friend Ed (Mitchell) back at Good Burger. But Dexter is still looking for an opportunity to get some start-up money for his next big idea, and it ends up creating trouble for the fast food location all over again.
When you have a comedy like "Good Burger" getting a sequel, it only makes sense to have some kind of fast food crossover promotion. However, no one would have expected the fast food crossover to happen with a chain that isn't exactly known for its burgers. The...

Kel Mitchell is sharing more details on what led to his hospitalization due to a health-related incident earlier in the week.
In a video posted on his Instagram Friday, the actor said, “I’m good, I’m here, I’m smiling, I’m with my family, I’m at home.” His update comes days after what he previously called a “genuinely frightening” experience that happened on Tuesday.
“I was out shopping when suddenly the whole room started spinning,” he explained in the clip. “So I was like, I must be dehydrated so I need to go get some water, some food. When I did that, the whole right side of my arm and my leg was numb, followed by me not being able to swallow. And that’s when I panicked.”
Mitchell said he proceeded to drive himself to a local hospital, which he “wouldn’t advise anybody to do.

This year has been a melancholic one for collectors of physical media. DVDs and Blu-ray discs, once a source of billions in revenue for Hollywood companies, are at risk of becoming obsolete, or at least irrelevant.
The first blow came at the end of September, when Netflix mailed its last DVD (a copy of the 2010 film True Grit, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen). As of Nov. 1, the DVD Netflix website functions as an interactive in memoriam page.
Netflix’s DVD business had dwindled in recent years (falling from over $1 billion in revenue in 2012 to $146 million by 2022), but it was a safe space for film fanatics who loved its immense library of new releases and classic films and shows that aren’t available to stream. The shutdown was in many ways the end of an era, and while some, like Redbox, try to fill that gap, it is a service that appears unlikely to return.

Kai Cenat is furthering his big-screen dreams with a role in a nostalgic sequel. The streaming star will make an appearance in Good Burger 2, an upcoming film led by Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell.
The original Good Burger film, released in 1997, evolved out of a bit from Nickelodeon’s prime-time sketch show All That. Thompson and Mitchell were two of All That‘s breakout stars, and they created an iconic setting by depicting their adventures at a run-down burger joint. Good Burger‘s (widely-panned) trip to the big screen featured cameos from 90s icons like Sinbad and Shaquille O’Neal.
Though the Good Burger movie drew negative reviews from critics, it endured as a cultural touchstone of the Millennial generation. More than 25 years after its theatrical release, Good Burger is getting a sequel. Good Burger 2 will arrive on the Paramount Plus streaming service on November 22.

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are hungry to save their jobs in the first full trailer for Paramount+’s comedy sequel Good Burger 2.
The streaming service released the trailer Monday for director Phil Traill’s film that is set to launch Nov. 22. The movie centers on Dexter (Thompson) and Ed (Mitchell) reuniting as staff members at Good Burger as the pair attempt to help the struggling fast food establishment amid its parent company’s plans to grow the brand.
This footage shows plenty of hijinks for the two leads as they get reconnected. “It really means a lot that you came to see me,” Mitchell tells Thompson.
At a different point in the trailer, the guys learn that MegaCorp is planning to expand Good Burger globally but intends to fire the restaurant’s staff. “MegaCorp wants to replace everybody with robots,” Thompson warns. “We gotta do something!”

Welcome back to Good Burger! After years of teasing a sequel, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are back for "Good Burger 2." On Aug. 21, Paramount+ dropped the first teaser, and it seems like no time has passed because Ed and Dex are up to their old antics. Then, on Oct. 30, the streamer dropped another full trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, teasing "the new adventures of Ed and Dex."
Per the new clip, it seems the duo's new adventures involve trying to hold onto their jobs as burger-serving robots take over their beloved restaurant that's on its way to becoming a global phenomenon.
Back in March, Jimmy Fallon and his crowd instantly went wild when Thompson and Mitchell revealed the "Good Burger 2" news on "The Tonight Show." "Ladies and gentlemen, Kel has something he would like to tell you," Thompson teased before handing the announcement over to his costar.

Over 25 years after Nickelodeon brought "Good Burger" to the big screen, Paramount+ is bringing the sequel to the small screen. "Good Burger 2" is getting an exclusive streaming release in November, just in time for your family to get together and enjoy a good meal for Thanksgiving.
We've already gotten a decent look at the comedy sequel starring Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, reprising their roles from the original movie, but a new "Good Burger 2" trailer finally digs into the story. Burgers and pizza might not be on the menu for most Thanksgiving meals, but fans of the aforementioned foods will be well-represented at the 97th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Nickelodeon announced Thursday that the Burgermobile — the vehicle of choice for the fast food-hawking leads of Paramount+’s upcoming sequel Good Burger 2 — will make its first appearance during the annual holiday celebration held in New York City on Thanksgiving Day, which falls this year on Nov. 23.
In addition, the pizza-adoring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will return to the Macy’s parade this year with an all-new float pegged to the recent animated release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. The float will feature the ninja teens facing off against Superfly and other nefarious mutants.
Among the previously announced Nickelodeon favorites set to return for the 2023 parade are balloon likenesses of SpongeBob SquarePants and Paw Patrol’s Chase, in addition to a Baby Shark float.

I Hate People, People Hate Me, a new six-episode dark comedy about two friends navigating Toronto’s queer community as outliers, will debut this November on CBC Gem.
Produced by LoCo Motion Pictures and hailing from creator and star Bobbi Summers, the series will hit the streaming service on Nov. 7, with the first two episodes set to stream globally the same day on the CBC Comedy YouTube channel. Ahead of its release, the series has also dropped a red-band trailer offering a (mature) first look at the show, which is directed by Blake Mawson and also stars Lily Kazimiera and Alden McWayne.
An exploration of queer identity as queerness has become more mainstream and commodified, the offbeat comedy is inspired tonally, in part, by films like Ghost World, Good Burger and Welcome to the Dollhouse alongside Summers’ diaries, written while in their 20s. The show follows Jovi (Summers) and Tabitha...

"Good Burger" is a rather unlikely success story of '90s kids' entertainment. Back in the '90s, Nickelodeon created a sketch comedy show titled "All That," which was essentially the kids' version of "Saturday Night Live." It ran absurd sketches and launched the careers of many actors like Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, Katrina Johnson, Jack DeSena, Kel Mitchell, and Kenan Thompson — who would go on to become the longest-reigning "SNL" cast member ever.
And just like "SNL," "All That" would see some sketches turn into spin-offs, with the biggest one being "Good Burger." In the sketches, Kenan and Kel starred as Dexter and Ed, two fast food joint workers who get into all sorts of hijinks. The movie was directed by Brian Robbins, who would go on to become president and CEO of Paramount Pictures.
In the years since the first "Good Burger," Thompson and Mitchell have teased a sequel numerous times,...
