Ironically, The Jungle Book (1994) was adapted from Rudyard Kipling's 'The Second Jungle Book' and The Second Jungle Book: Mowgli & Baloo (1997) was adapted from Kipling's 'The Jungle Book' (in particular, its story "Kaa's Hunting") but took its title from 'The Second Jungle Book', to distinguish itself from the movie The Jungle Book (1994).
During the making of the movie, Jamie Williams was bitten in the foot by a chimp. The bandage on his foot can be seen in some scenes in the widescreen version.
