Salma Hayek has long been regarded as one of the most beautiful actors in Hollywood. The star rose to fame in Tinsel Town after starring in 1996's "From Dusk Till Dawn," and has continued to expand her résumé, appearing in films like "Wild Wild West," "Dogma," and "Frida," the latter of which garnered critical acclaim. Most recently, Hayek is the voice of Kitty Softpaws in "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" and stars alongside Channing Tatum as Maxandra Mendoza in "Magic Mike's Last Dance," set to release on Feb. 10.
Despite being such a high-profile celebrity, the actor maintains a private personal life. The actor has been married to French businessman François-Henri Pinault since 2009. Over the years, Hayek has had nothing but loving things to say about her husband of 14 years. "You know the thing is that in pictures you cannot begin to guess the magic in him," she explained during...

Khaby Lame became the most-followed creator on TikTok this year. Now he’s almost ready to enter the next phase of his career, but he needs to perfect his English first.
The Italian star, who has used wordless TikToks to turn himself from a factory worker into a Boss, has his eye on Hollywood. He told Fortune that his “dream” is to win an Oscar — even though he is on track to make about 10 million this year from TikTok and other ventures.
Lame’s desire to make it in Tinseltown is compelling him to improve his English. He practices the language by watching the kids’ show Daniel Tiger for three hours daily. “My dream is that one day we’ll win an Oscar,” he told Fortune.
The “we” in that quote is Lame and Alessandro Riggio, his manager. They are flatmates in an apartment in Milan, but they could definitely...

Al Pacino created an urban legend with Tony Montana, and Brian De Palma’s Scarface (1983) is an icon of the gangster film genre; one of an unholy trinity alongside The Godfather (1972) and Goodfellas (1990). But when it premiered in New York, Steven Bauer, who played Manny Ribera in the film, remembers Martin Scorsese turning around halfway through the movie to warn: “You guys are great, but be prepared, because they’re going to hate it in Hollywood. Because it’s about them.”
The same could be said about the original Scarface. Studio filmmakers saw producer Howard Hughes as a rich interloper, bullying his way onto the lot with too many guns blazing. Conversely, Brian De Palma’s Scarface is about excess, and how success depends on it. Oliver Stone’s screenplay for the ‘80s movie used a gangster as an allegory for the Reagan administration’s war on drugs and the capitalistic greed of the era.

Old Hollywood makes a return to the big screen later this year in Oscar-winning “La La Land” and “First Man” director Damien Chazelle’s new film “Babylon,” but this is far from a sanitized take on 1920s Tinseltown.
Paramount Pictures has unveiled some first-look images from “Babylon” that showcase Chazelle’s impressive ensemble, including Brad Pitt as an established movie star and Margot Robbie as an ingénue on the rise.
Described as a tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, the story traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood. This is a fully R-rated take on a turning point in the history of Hollywood, when silent films gave way to talkies and movie stardom exploded.
Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Jean Smart also star in the film, which Chazelle wrote. The “Whiplash” filmmaker reunites with his “First Man...

Eminem just added another award to his already vast trophy case. The Detroit rapper (along with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, and Mary J. Blige) won a 2022 Creative Arts Emmy award for his participation in this year’s Super Bowl Halftime performance. The star-studded 14-minute set won an award for Outstanding Variety Special during the two-day awards showcase.
With last week’s win, Slim Shady is now only a Tony Award away from the entertainment world’s Grand Slam: an Egot, or Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

Enough already with the prequels.
From Marvel to Lucasfilm, from House of the Dragon to The Lord of the Rings, from one horror classic to another, Hollywood is fully investing in and doubling down on movies and TV series that show us what happened before the iconic or classic films and series that we already love, whether we really need to know what happened or not.
The empire of dreams known as Tinseltown, alleged source of unbridled, endless creativity and imagination, is resorting to massive dumps of fan service, easter eggs, and the apparently bottomless pit of emotional nostalgia in the hopes that the combination of all these will keep hitting that dopamine button for fans, and keep the box office and streaming subscriptions humming.
Now, we know this sounds like a curmudgeon waving his fist at the clouds, just as we also know that the whole prequel thing goes back literally decades.

Update 2:
While Ann Heche has been declared brain dead, a representative for the actress said that she has not yet been taken off life support. “While Anne is legally dead according to California law, her heart is still beating, and she has not been taken off life support so that One Legacy can see if she is a match for organ donation,” the representative said. Sources have claimed that Heche will likely be taken off the ventilator within the next 24 hours. Although her body still lives, Anne Heche’s family and friends know she’s gone. “We have lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” reads a statement from the family. “Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth,...

Grace Kelly was a star the moment she set foot in Hollywood, but the silver screen wasn't always her dream. The actress began her career on the stage, where she always had theatrical ambitions, even after she found success in Tinseltown. Kelly struggled to make a name for herself in New York, but she was a natural in front of the camera. The actress starred in movies with some of the studio era's biggest names, and she even became one of them herself. But she always held a torch for Broadway.

So, when’s the perfect time to release a big family comedy about a big family event that happens in the Spring? Why, the “dog days” of Summer, naturally. Or at least that’s the thinking behind this weekend’s answer to the big star-fueled “action-on-the-rails” blockbuster. But what was the question, again? Yeah, so when will another “stand-up” superstar branch into the movies (most go right to TV) with an “all ages” funny flick loosely based on his life, and his sell-out comedy concerts? Move over Amy Schumer, Pete Davidson, and Kevin Hart, here comes some competition with a unique, often spicy ethnic voice. So, strap in for one wild and raucous Easter Sunday.

Writer-director Malcolm D. Lee has re-assembled the entire nine-member cast of the original 1999 movie for this sequel.
Sequels are rampant in Hollywood, but it’s rare to see a sequel produced almost 15 years after the release of the original movie. This happens when a movie has a fan base, and filmmakers and cast members are eager to revisit an earlier opus. The Best Man was a hit in 1999, partly because it appealed to a more upscale African-American audience than Hollywood ordinarily acknowledges. Now writer-director Malcolm D. Lee has re-assembled the entire nine-member cast of the original movie for The Best Man Holiday, which is set at Christmas and has a good chance to succeed and also become a holiday perennial on TV and DVD.

Early in 1927, Louis B Mayer, the head of MGM studios and soon to be the highest-paid executive in the world, met a handful of fellow conservative thinkers to create an elite Hollywood organisation with the grandiose title of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The aim was to deter the development of unions, or at least to control and arbitrate their operations. The academy, and the awards set up the following year as an expression of the good taste of its members (of whom there are now 6,000), began in politics and continue to be influenced by it.

We're in an era of nostalgia at the movies in which many recently successful films have taken us back in time and lovingly recreated an age long past. (See: Midnight in Paris, Hugo, The Artist, etc.) Hollywood's fascination with the past continues, as Variety reports that The Bourne Identity helmer Doug Liman is stepping behind the camera for a time traveling love story called Time and Again. Based on Jack Finney's novel, the story follows an illustrator who mysteriously travels back to 1882 New York and is forced to choose which life he wants to lead: his old life where he belongs, or this new one in which he's found love. This project has been kicking around Tinseltown for years now, as Robert Redford originally tried to get it off the ground as a starring vehicle for himself in the mid-90s. There was also an attempt to turn it...

Johansson will play leading lady Janet Leigh, who took the screen's most famous shower in the 1960 classic of its genre. James D'Arcy (Madonna's W.E.) will play Anthony Perkins, whose acting career never quite recovered after...

From Crypt to script, Dracula is coming back to our screens in a number of new projects that all seem to be arising at the same time.
Last month, it emerged that NBC was developing a Dracula drama series set in the 1890s. The TV soap opera was described as "young, sexy and supernatural" and as "Dangerous Liaisons meet The Tudors."
It's being scripted by Cole Haddon, who previously wrote Hyde, an as-yet-unmade project from 2010 in which Dr Jekyll is released from prison to hunt a new monster who seems to be using an improved version of the Hyde transformation serum.
In addition, Hammer CEO Simon Oakes has revealed that they are considering "a contemporary Dracula" movie and already had potential filmmakers in mind.
He told Digital Spy: "Certainly in my time with Hammer we will definitely do a Dracula.
"We can't really tell you much about it but we really are looking at it.

Season Of The Witch Blu-Ray 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment 2011/Rated PG-13/Running Time 95 mins List Price: $39.98 – Available June 28, 2011I can't honestly say I know what goes on in the head of Nicolas Cage, one of Hollywood's zaniest actors when he chooses a film, but it sure has been one hell of a ride. Cage earned respectability in Tinseltown by demonstrating an unwavering commitment to immersing himself in virtually any role, eventually earning an Oscar fifteen years ago for his work in Mike Figgis' Leaving Las Vegas. Three months later, Cage turned himself into an action star with the arrival of Michael Bay's The Rock in the summer of '96 and things have never been the same. There was a time when I didn't mind Cage making soulless action-adventure films because their success gave him the breathing room to take risks with small wonderful dramas like Ridley Scott's Matchstick Men,...

Is it a bird? is it a plane? Well, the bird might turn out to be a Black Swan if the latest rumours in Tinseltown are true.
Darren Aronofsky, whose ballet thriller Black Swan starring Natalie Portman is released in the UK in February, is said to be "in active talks" to direct the new Superman film.
The Los Angeles Times and also The Hollywood Reporter say the filmmaker is in the running for the Warner Bros project, which will be produced and creatively guided by Christopher Nolan and is set for a December 2012 release.
In addition, Ben Affleck (pictured above), who directed newly-released bank heist drama The Town, is said to have been in discussions last week about steering Superman back on to the screen but "is no longer pursuing it."
Previously, it was claimed the directors Nolan was approaching were: Zack Snyder, Duncan Jones, Jonathan Liebesman, Matt Reeves and Tony Scott.

One of gaming's most hallowed role-playing game series experienced a resurgence with 2008's "Fallout 3," which focused on the Capital Wasteland, the remnants of Washington, D.C. in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by nuclear war. The sprawling tale of the protagonist's search for his father across a landscape populated with disfigured mutants, biker bandits and giant mutated insects won over many.
Ron Perlman has served as narrator in every "Fallout" game, and he was joined in "Fallout 3" by Liam Neeson and Malcolm McDowell in key roles. The Holywood star power wasn't necessarily a key ingredient in the success of "Fallout 3," but the extra polish of those recognizable voices helped increase the sheen of the Bethesda Softworks' great storytelling.
Now, the next installment of the "Fallout" series, "Fallout: New Vegas" moves west and adds a slew of Tinseltown talent. Here's the relevant bit from the press release:

Now, before you start reading any further, you might be thinking, "What the hell have they written this list for? Surely he hasn't even made ten films yet?"
But you'd be wrong on two counts.
Firstly, the reason that Jason Statham has been so successful is from working damn hard since he broke through in 1998 with Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels. In the last twelve years, he's clocked up twenty-four onscreen appearances.
Sensibly, he's chosen to concentrate on mostly making the films that he's naturally suited to: action movies.
The reason I'm most grateful for this is because of the seeming generosity with which it feels he's rewarding me as an action fan. I'd be happy if every other film he ever did was a sequel to The Transporter,...
