Yes. This has now been shown on TV and a DVD has been released. Also, there may be a Season 3 and Seasons 4.
In November 2008, TF1 who finances the new episodes, and Jean Chalopin announced production for 3 seasons of 26 episodes each.
The first episode of season 2 is currently planned to premiere in September 2012 on French television.
As of March 2012, there has been no communication regarding distribution of the new seasons to other markets with other language dubbing than French.
It is fair to assume that, should the new season prove successful in France, it will rapidly be distributed to other markets.

As it is not a remake nor an adaptation, all parties involved have explained the aim is to maintain the original character design, look, atmosphere and muscial style of the 1st season. Production changes from celluloid to digital, but the authenticity will remain.
There will be 1 season per year. Airing dates have not been confirmed for seasons 3 and 4, but we can assume that season 2 will air from September 2012 to March 2013, season 3 from September 2013 to March 2014 and season 4 from September 2014 to March 2015.
Hadrien Soulez Larivière has written the "bible" of the 3 new seasons with Jean Chalopin acting as a consultant. Hadrien Soulez Larivière is also writing the scripts of the new episodes.
