Oi there, listen up! Amazon Prime Video’s list of new releases for June 2024 includes another season of its biggest, bloodiest hit.
The Boys season 4 premieres its first three episodes on Thursday, June 13. Based on the trailers, The Boys is really leaning into the political side of its social satire with a presidential election underway and Homelander on trial for the small matter of killing a guy last season. The season will continue to air on Thursdays, culminating with the finale on July 18.
Amazon is really leaning into its sports offerings this month as well. Fans will get to watch the New York Yankees, the WNBA, and the Nwsl several times throughout June. That’s in addition to a couple of sports docs: Power of the Dream on June 18 and Federer: Twelve Final Days on June 20.
But if you’re looking for something even more explosive than Homelander and Roger Federer,...

Off the cusp of his breakup with Rorie Buckley last month, Australian conservationist and TV personality Robert Irwin is once again a single pringle!
But would he ever go on The Bachelor? Irwin recently had an interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle, and the subject of him appearing on the reality television dating competition came up.
Robert Irwin Dances Around The Topic
The 20-year-old Australian personality, alongside Julia Morris, his I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here Australia co-host, danced around the idea of him joining The Bachelor, during their interview.
Irwin initially laughed when the question was asked, but Morris notes that if he was The Bachelor, then she’d go on as a bachelorette contestant, and noted it would be like a “weird old creepy nightmare.” Irwin replied, “Yeah … right”, while laughing, and he added, “That sounds perfect.”
Morris stipulated that the two couldn’t go on a date though,...

On Thursday’s episode of the “Wtf With Marc Maron” podcast, “Dicks: The Musical” director Larry Charles opened up about why he steers clear of working on big-budget movies.
“I try to make things like ‘Dangerous Comedy’ or this movie [‘Dicks: The Musical’] — this movie’s a very low-budget movie,” Charles said of the raunchy A24 musical. “Politically for me, ethically for me, I find it offensive when movies cost $250 million and the world is in the state that it’s in. So I’m also looking to make a statement in the way these things are made.”
Charles, known for his directorial collaborations with Sacha Baron Cohen and his work on such sitcoms as “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Seinfeld,” slammed the Hollywood studio system, calling it a “media monopoly system” in the United States.

Larry Charles isn’t exactly known for his film work in the big-budget blockbuster space — and it turns out that’s just the way he wants it.
In a wide-ranging interview on “Wtf With Marc Maron” released Thursday, the industry vet was discussing how comedy can be a political act in the context of his 2019 Netflix series “Larry Charles’ Dangerous World of Comedy” and his latest cult indie flick “Dicks: The Musical” when he ripped into his beliefs on how the Hollywood system operates today.
“I try to make things like ‘Dangerous Comedy’ or this movie — this movie’s a very low-budget movie,” Charles said of his new A24 musical comedy starring Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally, Josh Sharp, Aaron Jackson and Bowen Yang. “Politically for me, ethically for me, I find it offensive when movies cost $250 million and the world is in the state that it’s in. Disney Animation might be wishing for a crystal ball as as it decides which song from their upcoming feature Wish to submit for Oscars consideration. The Oscars’ Nov. 1 deadline comes weeks ahead of the Nov. 22 release date for the film, voice starring Ariana DeBose as young protagonist Asha and Chris Pine as villainous King Magnifico. The date means the studio could face a potential conundrum, not unlike the one its experienced in 2022 when best animated feature winner Encanto was a contender.
When the 2022 Oscar nominations for best original song were announced, Encanto‘s ballad “Dos Oruguitas” got a nom, but “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” — which went on to become the studio’s biggest hit ever from a movie, sitting atop the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks — did not. It left many scratching their heads, but the reason, it turned out, was that Disney Animation didn’t submit “Bruno” for consideration.

The undercover character comedian extraordinaire, Sasha Baron Cohen, isn’t forgetting about the character that propelled him into stardom. While Cohen shot up into pop culture with the release of Borat, illustrated by the many bad impressions people attempted over the years, and followed that up with a revival of another one of his staple characters in Bruno, Cohen will be suiting up as his signature fictional rapper character who is the proclaimed “voice of the youth,” Ali G. He is set to revive the satirical interviewer for a stand-up tour that Cohen is currently planning.
According to Variety, Cohen is denying that he has a movie in development and the comedic chameleon, who is a writer and actor, is abiding by the restrictions as both the writers’ union and actors’ union strike. A source tells Variety, “As a SAG and WGA member he is supporting the ongoing strike alongside his fellow writers and actors.

Sacha Baron Cohen is bringing back Ali G, the controversial character with whom he first shot to fame in the late 1990s.
Variety understands Baron Cohen has been working on a stand-up tour in which Ali G will make an appearance. A source close to Baron Cohen strenuously denied a new movie was in development, however, noting that the writer and actor is strictly abiding by strike rules. “As a SAG and WGA member he is supporting the ongoing strike alongside his fellow writers and actors,” the source told Variety.
In 2021 the comedian resurrected the Staines-based rapper during a secret gig at The Comedy Store in Sydney, Australia. “I just wanted to get on stage and muck around and see what Ali G would be like with a crowd,” he said at the time. “It was really good fun.”

After a decade-long friendship, comedy producers David Bernad and Todd Schulman finally put together their hidden-camera comedy expertise to make Amazon Freevee’s viral success “Jury Duty.”
The executive producers of the overnight hit mockumentary combined their talents for the improvised-scripted sitcom. Bernad and Schulman began with the idea to hone in on sitcom genre tropes and create a story about an isolated individual amongst a cast of actors as they served on a sequestered jury.
The two have had successful stints with unconventional comedy subgenres, most recently within the improvised-scripted sphere. Schulman worked with Sacha Baron Cohen on “Who Is America?” and Bernad teamed with Eric Andre on “Bad Trip.” Prior to “Jury Duty,” Schulman served as executive producer on “Borat,” “Bruno,” “The Lovebirds” and “The Dictator,” while Bernad executive produced “The White Lotus,” “Superstore,” “Uncharted” and “White House Plumbers.“

The Mandalorian was designed to launch Disney Plus with a bang, and it certainly did that, providing a far superior Star Wars experience to its big screen cousin The Rise of Skywalker. I adored its Western and samurai-inspired aesthetic, beautiful cinematography, awesome cast and, of course, everyone’s favorite pint-size puppet Baby Yoda. The finale of the first season didn’t disappoint either, setting us up for an epic adventure that I hope will continue in the same vein as what we’ve already seen.
So, all celebrations at Disney HQ, right? Well, not exactly. The Mandalorian was their flagship exclusive, but they don’t have much in the near future to follow it up with. There isn’t anything remotely as exciting as it for a while yet, with the next major show being The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. That doesn’t have a set release date right now,...

A TV writer filed suit against Creative Artists Agency on Tuesday, alleging that his agents stole his idea for a show and gave it to a higher-profile client.
John Musero worked as a writer on the Aaron Sorkin show “The Newsroom” in 2014. The following year, he says he wrote a pilot called “Main Justice,” which would focus on the inner workings of the U.S. attorney general’s office. Though the series was optioned and developed by the Mark Gordon Co., it never went beyond that.
Musero’s suit alleges that another CAA client, Sascha Penn, sold a pilot called “Main Justice” to CBS in 2018. The show was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television and former Attorney General Eric Holder, and similarly focused on the attorney general’s office. The suit claims that both pilots ended with an assassination attempt on the attorney general.

(Spoilers ahead for the premiere of Sacha Baron Cohen’s new Showtime series, “Who Is America?” We will reference the second episode, which airs on July 22, but will not reveal any details about it.)
It’s a little bit surprising that after all these years, Sacha Baron Cohen is at it again. And I mean really, really at it. After “Da Ali G Show,” “Borat” and “Bruno” we figured that particular shtick was over, because the man is so famous that pulling that kind of thing off at this point would be impossible, and yet here we are.
One viral tweet this week summed up that sentiment rather well:

Dancing With the Stars kicked off its first two-night event of Season 25 on Monday by literally kicking off the first couple of Season 25.
But before we get to the results, let’s see how each of the couples danced tonight…
Debbie & Alan | Despite the judges’ pointed criticisms over Debbie Gibson’s quickstep, they all acknowledged that her positive attitude is infectious. (Score: 20/30)
Nikki & Artem | Following last week’s edgier routine, which found Nikki Bella throwing partner Artem Chigvintsev to the floor, the WWE Diva took a more “elegant” route, resulting in a waltz that had judge Bruno Toniolo feeling “starry eyed under a starry sky.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are notoriously low-key, private celebrities, rarely giving interviews and even more rarely being photographed while going about their daily lives as luxury fashion designers and generally fabulous people. In fact, these two just might be part of the tiny handful of millennial women who don’t and have never had a social media presence, making their first appearance on Vine in 2014 in a video they thought was a photo and posting their first ever and only selfie just last year. So when these sisters do crop up on Instagram, it’s kind of a big deal.

Women seem to be continually defending their clothing choices right now. We’ve seen instances from high school graduating seniors, mall shoppers and even female reporters in the House Speaker’s lobby, all of whom have stood up to the backlash and body shamers while promoting change in the process. But according to news from the Ladies Professional Golf Association, the organization is on a mission to reverse its players’ dress code by banning shirts with “plunging necklines,” racerback tank tops, short skirts and even leggings.
According to Golf Digest, it all started with an email sent out on July...

The Academy Awards will go down at end of February, likely providing us with a gorgeous collection of red carpet gowns, plenty of Pda-friendly couples, and some truly spectacular moments. It will be the 89th iteration of the annual award show, and although they're sure to be great, we have a feeling it'll be hard to top what happened at the Oscars 20 years ago. That's right - the red carpet at the 1997 Oscars was, as the kids say, f*cking lit. The dress code included crop-tops, t-shirts, and velvet capes, and couples who seem bizarre to us now were getting cozy all over the place. 2017's show might have Ryan Gosling, but the one in 1997 had someone legitimately dressed as the Oscar statue. There's no coming back from that. Related:20 Power Couples Who Ruled the Red Carpet at the 1997 Golden Globes...

"The dress code for the prom specified girls must wear formal dresses," Bishop McDevitt High School told ABC News. Tonight, they continue that trend with the full lineup for Edc (Electric Daisy Carnival) Las Vegas, which was announced on the latest edition of Night Owl Radio, Insomniac’s weekly radio show. Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood is concerned that fellow judge Bruno Tonilio might be trespassing onto his "nasty" turf with his recent criticisms and on-air swearing.
The notoriously cutting judge - who dressed up as a zombie bride for last weekend's Halloween-themed all-star dance - told Woman magazine that "Bruno is definitely becoming nastier".
Strictly Come Dancing: From Adele to Take That, see Week 7's song and dance list
"That's my turf! Perhaps I need to have a few words with him," he continued.
"I think it's because he's the tough judge in the States and that character is crossing over the pond.
"He needs to be careful he doesn't get too carried away and slip up again with a swear word, though."
Effusive Italian judge Tonilio described Jay McGuiness's paso doble with professional partner Aliona Vilani as "the bull's bollocks", for which the BBC later apologised.

Earlier today in Cannes, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, and director Denis Villeneuve had vowed to wear high heels to the premiere of their new Mexican-drug-cartel movie, Sicario, in protest of an antiquated Cannes Film Festival dress code that requires women to wear high heels to all nighttime gala premieres. (The dress code has been all anyone can talk about here in Cannes, after several women in their 50s, including some with health problems with their legs, were denied entry to the Palais for wearing flats.) Did the men of Sicario follow through in their gesture of solidarity against oppressive footwear? Sadly, no. At the film's after-party, del Toro could be seen standing around in comfy black men's dress shoes while his co-star Emily Blunt, in high-heeled sandals, had to keep sitting on the backs of couches because her feet clearly hurt. As del Toro explained to Vulture, he really...

Super is a Kickstarter-funded comic that switched focus between two main characters Mark, the first, is a super-powered young farm boy (a lot like Clark Kent). The second is Secretary of Defense John Colbert. Mark pops up often in Surran, your standard Middle-Eastern war zone placeholder while Colbert deals with his family issues and the various politics of Washington. Understatement aside, Super is an excellent first issue. The story could easily fit within the pages of Action Comics, as Superman struggles with morality, and the responsibility of being a hero. Chiroleu’s art is smooth and expressive. The first issue as a whole feels very professional with one exception: Mark has a conversation with his friend Jordan. A handful of pages in the middle of the issue are dedicated to a sophomore poli-sci paper worth of dialogue on the...

A Utah teen sparked a controversy after she was forced to wear her winter coat during a school dance because officials thought her dress was "too inappropriate." Gabi Finalyson, 15, couldn't wait for Saturday's formal at Lone Peak High School in Highland, Utah. She even bought the perfect dress during a recent trip to Paris, according to Kutv. But as soon as she walked into the event, a school representative told her and four other students to cover up because they were showing too much shoulder and back. "Somehow my shoulders are sexualized," Gabi told Kutv. "Like it's my responsibility to...

• Tom Hiddleston will star (and sing) as Hank Williams in an upcoming biopic about the country legend. I Saw The Light will be directed by Marc Abraham (Flash of Genius), who adapted the script from Colin Escott’s biography of Williams. Quite different than his role in The Avengers, Hiddleston will sing from the entire Williams catalog, with songs like “Hey, Good Lookin’,” after the rights were secured through a deal with Sony Atv. The film will follow Williams’ rise to fame before dying of heart failure at age 29. [Deadline]

Cannes - Another year and another Cannes means The Weinstein Company is once more staging a show and tell for their upcoming slate. After ending 2013 on a somewhat disappointing note at the box office, TWC is hoping a number of new titles can change their fortunes over the rest of this calendar year. The company's annual presentation consisted of familiar trailers for titles releasing in the next few months and selected clips from projects that we haven't seen any footage from up until now. Oh, and Harvey, of course. One of the legendary movie mogul's primary goals wasn't to discuss his new films, but to make sure everyone got the story straight and why he wasn't at the "Grace of Monaco" premiere. Weinstein had a somewhat public debate with director Olivier Dahan over the cut of the picture, with Dahan eventually winning, but Harvey satisfied the financial concerns by convincing...

It's the day after the Met ball, and after having a chance to sleep on it, it's clear which trends reigned supreme at the gala. The dress code was "white tie," honoring legendary designer Charles James, and many celebs had their own interpretation of what that meant. Some went retro, drawing inspiration from the classic Charles James ball gowns of the 1940s and '50s, while others went modern and trendy. There was even a handful who clearly were nostalgic for last year's punk theme. Basically, people went in all different directions, and that means there were a ton of looks and trends popping up all over the place. On the beauty front, cherry red lips, retro waves and sleek...

Happy 80th birthday, Shirley MacLaine!
The legendary, award-winning actress, who was born April 24, 1934 in Richmond, Va, started out as a dancer and got her big break on Broadway. She made her first film with Alfred Hitchcock, became a Rat Pack regular, flirted briefly with politics but has never stopped acting as she enters her 7th decade in Hollywood.
She started off as a lovably kooky ingenue, but is known today for her cantankerous matriarch roles in "Downton Abbey," "Bernie," "Steel Magnolias," "Guarding Tess," and, of course, her Oscar-winning role as Aurora Greenway in "Terms of Endearment."
Her next gig is a singing and dancing role on "Glee," of course. Happy Birthday to one of the most talented, most colorful character actresses of all time.
1. She was named after Shirley Temple.
2. She's been performing since age 3, when she began doing ballet.

Blockbuster season is almost upon us, but what will next summer's big hitters be? Here's a roundup
Once upon a time, summer blockbuster season 2015 was set to be packed with the biggest collision of big franchises we'd ever seen together. However, one by one, lots of these films moved away to other dates. As such, you won't be seeing Star Wars: Episode VII, Pirates Of The Caribbean 5, Independence Day 2, Batman Vs Superman or Finding Dory in a cinema next summer.
But even with those films gone, there's still no shortage of huge movies battling for your cash in a year's time. And as is traditional for us at the start of summer blockbuster season, we've taken a look at what's coming up in 12 months' time.
We kick off at the start of April (although note that March has Kenneth Branagh’s live action Cinderella movie,...

If Friday night's Strictly was a tasty starter, then this evening's extended edition is a mouth-watering main course, brimming with glitter, tassels and the slightly scary prospect of a Vanessa Feltz cha cha cha.
Eight fresh celebrities will be hitting the dancefloor for the first time this evening. We can probably expect some early signs of brilliance from a couple of twinkle-toed celebrities, but we should probably also brace ourselves to watch through our fingers as some famous faces display their two left feet.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight (September 28) at 7pm on BBC One. Join Digital Spy for all the action as it happens.
20:26We'll be back here for more live-blogging next Saturday and the first celebrity will get the boot next weekend as well. Julien, Vanessa and Tony could all be in trouble. Abbey, Natalie, Patrick and Susanna look like the early frontrunners. But that could easily change fast.

It's not always smiles behind the camera, as this list of feuding co-stars proves. I Love Trouble, indeed...
It's a fallacy that everyone gets on together on a movie set. Just as in an everyday office, some people get on better with others. That's as you might expect. But when it comes to film, occasionally a disagreement between two stars becomes oh-so-apparent to pretty much anyone in the stalls at their local Odeon.

New Delhi, May 9: She made the noodle-strapped, halter, backless and low-cut blouses a rage a decade ago, but for her role as an anchor on kids' singing reality show "Indian Idol Junior", Mandira Bedi is ready to put on "lots of clothes".
One couldn't help but ask Mandira what will she wear for the show.
"The dress code is 'lots of clothes'," Mandira, who glamourised the age-old sari and blouse concept as host of "Extraa Innings" during the 2003 cricket World Cup, told Ians.
She broke into laughter, and added: "It will be more clothes than you've ever seen me in before."
On a serious note, Mandira, now.

A dress code at the Grammy Awards seems as likely to be enforced as a profanity ban for Quentin Tarantino movies. Still, the stars were ordered to cover up this year. So, did they?
