This film is considered an "Ozploitation" (Australian exploitation) picture.
The American ''Fair Game'' title for this movie is mentioned in dialogue when Jilly (Kim Trengove) says: "To them, we're just fair game."
This movie was never given a theatrical release in its home country nor was it ever released there on home video. It did however get an American home videotape release stateside under the title of ''Fair Game''.
A number of the key creatives on this picture had worked on Blood Money (1980) about a couple of years earlier. This included composer Mark McSherry, editor-producer Chris Oliver, actors Jay Mannering and Michael Carman, writer-cinematographer Ellery Ryan, writer-gaffer-camera operator John Ruane and writer-director Christopher Fitchett.
There is another Australian theatrical feature film also called ''Fair Game'' which got made and first released about four years later. ''Desolation Angels'' was re-named ''Fair Game'' in the USA and Canada. According to the 'Oz Movies' website, this ''lead to some confusion''.
