I first view this video a few days ago. I had found it very interesting but yet disturbing. It tells a true life stories of three girls with very different problems. The first story is about "Pinky" who is on the run from the system. She is 14 years of age. She is a street smart girl who lives in allys, dodging truant officers and has hopes and dreams of a perfect life. The second story is of "Mars". She is all but 13 years of age and strips for a living. When she was younger she was molested by her father, her mom re-married and then was raped by her step-brother. Her story was the most disturbing for me. The film shows, with no holds barred her strip act...a lot of nudity. It makes the viewer wonder just how she will end up as an adult. The third and last story is of "Martha" who grew up in more than 20 homes and institutions. She now faces the reality of teenage motherhood. The birth of her baby puts new insight into her yet still she is unsure of what life has in store for her. The viewer cannot help but think that these are all girls who cried out for parental love that just wasn't there. The only problem I had with the movie as a whole was it never did a follow up on these girls with the exception of "Pinky" who was caught and taken away to be place in a foster home. Otherwise I gave this down to earth movie a 7 out of 10.
