Confessions (1972)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

This 11 minute short from Curt McDowell has him playing a man who confesses to his parents the various "sins" he has done since the age of thirteen. Pretty soon we see various videos and pictures of pornographic material. As I go through these McDowell shorts it's easy to see why he has a cult following as the films are pretty over-the-top and different to say the least. The low-budget is obvious but I think McDowell does a nice job at getting his vision on the screen and I think he also manages to keep you interested in his films even if the subject matter really isn't your thing. CONFESSIONS runs a bit long and probably would have benefited from a more focused story but it's still worth watching if you're a fan of the director.
