- Thumbelina, while on a floating leaf, is on the brink of falling down a waterfall when two fish rescue her.
- An animal attempts to attack Thumbelina, until a bear scares it away.
- A bear gets into a fight with a pack of wolves. He is shown to get bitten by some of them, but there is no blood. Thumbelina scares the wolves away.
- A bird is shown to have fallen into Mr. Mole's tunnel. He is shown to be lifeless but survives. He later tells Thumbelina about how he got there.
