Done in a cheerfully rambling and episodic free-form style, this blithely dippy hardcore comedic romp doesn't make a lot of sense or possess much in the way of narrative coherence, but it nonetheless still manages to be quite amusing and entertaining in a lovably screwball sort of way. The story centers mainly on hapless young guy John (likable Keith Henderson), who moves into a new apartment in San Francisco. John not only has his hands full dealing with his loopy and pretentious hippie chick fiancé (ravishing 70's adult cinema goddess Annette Haven in an endearingly daffy turn), but also gets involved with kooky nurse neighbor Mona (attractive brunette Mona Watson). Writer/director Zachary Youngblood maintains a zippy pace throughout and neatly captures the quirky anything-goes experimental vibe of the period. Moreover, there's lots of nice footage of 70's San Francisco. The racy jokes include gags about incest, suicide, necrophilia, and, in a nod to the infamous butter scene in Last Tango in Paris, Mona sodomizes John with a loaf of bread (!). The sex scenes are quite graphic and energetic, with Annette's lively coupling with John on a couch rating as the definite scorching highlight. The fairly polished cinematography offers a few neat overlapping visuals. Nimrod's funky-throbbing score hits the get-down groovy spot. An enjoyable and interesting curio.
