This was apparently filmed from a live stage show. At the beginning Willie Bryant says, "Welcome to the Harlem Variety Review" and "I'll be with you for the next 30 minutes."
The half-hour run time on the Mill Creek DVD (from the original Studio Films release) may be all there is. The opening titles only list seven acts (see the Soundtrack section).
Originally released by Studio Films along with Basin Street Revue (1956) and Rhythm and Blues Revue (1955). The complete cast and crew list may be showing the personnel for all three films, since many of the acts don't appear in this one.
Though not credited as an act in the opening titles, Willie Bryant and Leonard Reed were a team in vaudeville team for many years, and do a skit in this film.
The house band (uncredited) has "PW" on their music stands, apparently the initials of the group leader.
