For over 50 years, Astro Boy (aka Tetsuwan Atomu), the beloved superhero robot and Japanese icon has capture the hearts of people from all over the world but it was on April 7th, 2003 when he was actually born, well, within the context of Osamu Tezuka’s story. To celebrate the kid’s 5th birthday, the official Japanese site has been launched with a teaser trailer and quite fittingly so, it features a pivotal moment where his father Dr. Tenma first brought him to life. Other than the Japanese voice-over and a different title, there isn’t anything we really haven’t seen before since the last two teasers but what the heck, have another look again. Happy Birthday, my pointy hair friend!
The animated film hits the theaters on October 23rd. You’ll find the teaser after the jump.
