First aired on CBC in 1954 under the title "Country Calendar". For its first 20 years, the show offered Canadian farmers information and studio demonstrations of new equipment and farming techniques.
In 1975, the name was changed to "Country Canada", and its scope was widened to include other topics (such as fishing and logging) of interest to rural Canadians.
