Kitchen Sink Cartoon
When evil renegade Rathbone attempts to kidnap Nellie, it's up to dreamy swing clarinetist Benny Goodskin to rescue her.
It's easy to see why this is such a hard-to-see cartoon. It's from a trough period in Lantz's productions, it's in black and white, and it uses every cliche about Amerindians you can imagine, and a few you can't. On the other hand, it doesn't take any of them seriously, with characters named "Chief Rain-in-Puss" and everything for a laugh, including Nellie's teen-aged devotion to her ideal musician, and the faux-melodrama of the story line. It's certainly worth a look at what Lantz was doing while trying to come up with substitutes for fading cartoon star Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
