Together in the Weather is most hilarious George Pal Puppetoon
tavm1 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Together in the Weather is one of the most provocative of the George Pal Puppetoons. It tells the story of two characters named Punchy and Judy who live in neighboring clocks. Judy only comes out if it's sunny and warm while Punchy comes out if it's raining or snowing hard. Judy tries to get Punchy's attention by wearing various nearly revealing outfits like a one-or-two piece swimsuit, a fur coat, or a tight sweater. That last one gets Punchy to stand still like a diving board or some other symbol that I don't want to reveal here. Anyway, a fire comes to Judy's place that finally gets Punchy to come to her rescue but not without some humorous obstacles that I won't reveal here. All gags are worthy of Tex Avery at his most outrageous and risqué without completely breaking the Production Code. So to any fan of all '40s-style animation-especially of George Pal-I definitely recommend Together in the Weather.
