An Ex-Con Stealing Money from the Mob
Uriah4331 January 2022
Having been sent to prison for 5 years for a crime he did not commit, "Roy King" (Damu King) has had time to ponder his next move. So, after rejoining his fellow colleagues, the first thing he does is to pay a visit to an extremely dangerous man named "Andy Mayfield" (William Smith) who not only benefited financially from his conviction but also stole his girlfriend named "Valery" (Angela May) in the process. Needless to say, Andy Mayfield is not too happy to see him and their relationship only worsens when Roy forces him at gunpoint to hand over a large sum of money in the process. Yet, even though this action makes Roy a marked man, he still isn't finished as he has also devised a plan to rob several mob-controlled casinos at the very same time. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this film could have been much better if it had someone other than Damu King as the leading man. I say this because he just didn't have the charisma or the on-screen presence necessary for a movie of this type. Likewise, although I respect him as an athlete, Ernie Banks (as "Turbo") didn't help matters in this regard either. That being said, while this wasn't a terrible "blaxploitation" picture for the most part, it clearly wasn't one of the better ones out there and for that reason I honestly cannot rate it any higher than I have.
