This forerunner of today's very popular superhero porn parodies is crummy beyond belief, and I have no patience with the "so bad it's good" philosophy of so many pop culture fans. No, it's a piece of junk movie that has a couple of entertaining elements that rise above its morass -that's the takeaway.
Structure is creaky: story of superheroine team Buttgirl (Heather Hart) and Wonder Wench (April Rayne) stolen from the DC universe is told by Superdyke Cameo, who is Buttgirl's sister. She's reading a boastful letter from sis to her pal played by busty lady from Britain -Taylor Wane, and they have lesbian sex to end the movie.
Villain team of Poker (Jerry Butler) and Penguin (Ron Jeremy) are shot almost entirely in long-shot, I guess to contain their improvised antics as simply as possible. Entire story is recited by them in a few seconds -typical megalomania about taking over Possum CIty after slipping a powerful aphrodisiac into the water supply.
As sloppily directed by Buck Adams, who takes credit pointlessly as Rush Adams, movie is basically all-sex. Penguin & Poker roam around looking into a series of cells where couples or trios have mechanical sex, as a massive test of their aphrodisiac. Buttgirl and Wonder Wench are captured, but saved by the arrival of Catgirl (Avalon), cuing a group sex scene for the 3 super-ladies plus the couple of P named villains.
Shot on the crummiest sets known to man (even grubbier than the typical 1970 set of a no-budget 1-day wonder), this awful movie has a couple of memorable, redeeming features. First, against all odds the cross-talk of Ron Jeremy and Jerry Butler eventually becomes entertaining, as they get totally out of control and start singing drinking songs as well as an impromptu duet on Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust". Believe it or not, Butler is far more manic and silly than that perpetrator of bad jokes Ron Jeremy.
But taking the cake is a nonstop musical score under the sex scenes, that starts out inevitably as a parody of TV's "Batman" theme but develops into a series of hypnotically funky bass guitar, organ and drum solos. The group Sounds of Furi definitely deserved better than working in porn.
