The fast food restaurant was a Wendy's (under construction) in Milan, Italy.
All the characters were inspired by the Italian TV show "Drive-In". Writers Lorenzo Beccati, Ezio Greggio and Matteo Molinari all worked in the TV show as well.
During the filming, the three-wheeled delivery truck used by Carlo Pistarino flipped over and ripped open. Pistarino was unharmed, but the camera (attached to the truck) fared less well.
The movie approaches to a fashion style raised in Italy during the 80s named commonly paninaro, although in each city they were named in different ways (zanari in Bologna, bondolari in Verona, chiatilli in Napoli, tozzi in Rome, etc...). It was born between the Italian teenagers of those times, consisting to wear designer-label clothes, eat fast food (mainly burgers), listen pop music and go to dance.
