To the person who wrote the review: John Ruskin was not a painter. He did dabble in art a little, but he was an author and a poet. Ruskin's range was vast. He wrote over 250 works which started from art history, but expanded to cover topics ranging over science, geology, ornithology, literary criticism, the environmental effects of pollution, and mythology. His sense and writings and most importantly, his life influenced the forming of the British Labour Party. He was a social activist and free-thinker.
He supported the painters who were members and followers of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.
