Sportscaster, George Michael dies at age 70 due to cancer. According to the Los Angeles Times, longtime sportscaster, George Michael died early this morning after a long two-year battle with cancer. He was 70 years old,and was most noted for his nationally syndicated TV program entitled, " The George Michael Sports Machine." It was a syndicated TV show that ran nationwide for 27 years. He was on TV for more than 25 years in Washington,and he was a sports anchor on NBC's channel 4. His producer, Matt Glassman said he was a pioneer. He stated, "George was a pioneer in sports broadcasting.He was a gifted interviewer, a master storyteller, and one of the hardest working journalists out there."...

NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution said Monday that it has renewed the syndicated relationship strip Blind Date for a seventh season. The half-hour show has been sold in more than 92% of the country for the 2005-06 season. In addition, the distributor said that three syndicated weekend shows -- financial show The Wall Street Journal Report With Maria Bartiromo, public affairs series The Chris Matthews Show and sports show The George Michael Sports Machine -- also will return in the 2005-06 season. Report is returning for its second season and has been sold in more than 92% of the U.S.; Matthews returns for a fourth season and has been sold in more than 95% of the country; Sports Machine is returning for a 22nd season and has been sold in more than 90% of the U.S.
