A comfortable show that helped fill out CBC's early "children's hour" in the network's earlier years. Hélène would speak in both English and French with her guests - anything said in French would always be said in English too, helping many youth realise that there was more than one language in the days before most of us lived in multilingual cities. Nobody would gain total fluency in French, but you would learn the names of various things in French and not find it threatening.
