The rooster in the night train.

Really not a great comedy, just a game o hide and seek between Pierre, an employee of the sleeping cars company and a rooster with pedigree which not allowed Pierre to sleep in the morning and which he received as gift from his neighbors.

Some good and comic moments (especially at the beginning when Pierre wants to eliminate the rooster, the cock fight in Marseille) and some very boring moments (panic with pheasants in the train for example)..

Whooping cough (or cock).

Sandwiched between "le distrait" and "les malheurs d'Alfred ", "la coqueluche", in Pierre Richard 's filmography, is definitely the weakest link .

A listless director (who was to make another movie, his second one, and that was it,fortunately) , poor lines, a disjoint script and scenes which drag on (the first sequence , depicting an infuriated man, who would like to have a lie in and whose slumber is disrupted by a rooster that crooks again and again,at the break of dawn , is interminable :10 min whereas 3 would be enough ;the rest follows suit and it's really too bad that excellent Claude Piéplu should be wasted .

Reserved for Richard's completists ,but there are plenty of better comedies to watch before this turkey.
