Need to catch up? Check out the previous Nashville recap here.
If you’d have told me a year-and-a-half ago that I’d be asking for more Maddie in my Nashville, I’d have told you to go shove your head in a Tupperware full of pink macaroni. And yet, as this week’s Gunnar-centric episode unspools, I find myself constantly wondering, “Yes, but what is going on with the Maddie-Juliette beef?” So here we are.
The hour spends a bunch of time with Gunnar in his old hometown, revisiting his childhood, which was even sadder than we’d been led to believe.

2017-07-27T06:39:47-07:00June Foray, Voice of Rocky the Squirrel, Dies at 99
June Foray, the famed “first lady of voice actors” whose repertoire of characters include Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Pottsylvanian spy Natasha Fatale, Tweety Bird’s owner Granny and a sinister talking doll, has died. She was 99.
Foray, who worked alongside such animated legends as Mel Blanc, Chuck Jones, Stan Freberg and Jay Ward during her unseen yet spectacular eight-decade career, died Wednesday according to close friend Dave Nimitz who posted a notice of her passing on Facebook.
Versatile in her intonations and cadence, Foray provided voices for an incredible range of characters, including the killer Talky Tina doll in the 1963 “Living Doll” installment of The Twilight Zone, an episode said to be inspired by Mattel’s enormously popular pull-string Chatty Cathy doll (she provided the voice for that, too).

Recently Ranbir Kapoor was snapped on the sets. The actor was seen sporting long locks and has beefed up to fit into the role. Ranbir's uncanny resemblance to Sanjay Dutt from his earlier days, without a doubt, took the internet by storm and created immense anticipation. However, a well-kept secret is that Ranbir Kapoor will be donning 6 different looks throughout the film. What kind of looks? Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in various looks of Sanjay Dutt marking different phases of his life. Sanjay Dutt has sported a variety of looks through his journey and Rajkumar Hirani is leaving no stone unturned to bring it all to the silver screen. The looks will vary from the ones in his movies like Rocky, Khalnayak, etc; he will also don Sanjay Dutt's look while he was in prison, and a few other looks. "It has been an inspiring journey for me...

Laverne Cox is not letting the hate over her Grammy stage mistake get her down.
The actress-activist stopped by Sway in the Morning Tuesday to chat with host Sway Calloway on Eminem’s SiriusXM channel Shade 45, where she cleared up her Metallica mishap and swooned over her Grammy run-in with Beyoncé.
On Sunday night during the 2017 Grammy Awards, Cox took the stage to introduce Lady Gaga and Metallica’s blistering performance of “Moth Into Flame,” but she was so “in a moment” that she failed announce the heavy metal group’s name.
Laverne Cox accidentally only said Lady Gaga instead of Metallica #GRAMMYs pic.

Warning: There are major Don't Breathe spoilers below. Last week I wrote about Don't Breathe's instantly-notorious turkey baster scene, in which the psychotic "Blind Man" (Stephen Lang) ties Rocky (Jane Levy) up in a harness, cuts a hole in her pants and announces his intention to impregnate her with a turkey baster full of his semen. When I first watched the film-- which just topped the North American box office for the second week in a row -- the brutally-tense moment had me physically squirming in my seat, which is obviously the reaction Alvarez intended to provoke. As Rocky screams and struggles in horror, the Blind Man also, incredibly, announces: "I'm not a rapist." Which, of course, he is. Since Don't Breathe's release, the baster scene has been widely lauded by critics as a daring bit of provocation by the film's director Fede Alvarez, and for better or...

The summer is a confusing time for late night shows. With vacation time, shows are often off, then on, seemingly at random. When shows do air, there’s fewer dangerous animals on, and more affect-less athletes. And yet, some really funny things happen on late night during these lesser watched months. Jimmy Fallon nearly lost a hand, Conan rode into Comic-Con with a Mad Max war band. We got to see Colbert interview Eminem on Monroe, Michigan public access TV. Jon Stewart’s Daily Show month long “moment of zen” farewell continues, streaming every episode back-to-back, available globally. It wasn’t all bad.

The May 1 release of Avengers: Age of Ultron marks the "official" start of the 2015 Summer Movie Season and with that in mind, it's only appropriate to offer up a look forward at what's ahead over the next four months. What is ahead over the next four monthsc Well, a lot of movies that cost a lot of money with a few smaller features mixed in for good measure, and as much as some of us may lament the fact studios have become so franchise focused, it's hard not to admit a desire to see some of these bigger features. As a means of whittling down the flock of films arriving over the next several months I've chosen to take a look at my 20 most anticipated, which does mean there are bound to be some titles I probably ought to mention, but didn't make the list for a variety of reasons.

Some horror movies go with a "slow-build" approach, and some go for the jugular right off the bat. The unexpected horror hit "It Follows" definitely falls into the latter category, as you can see in the opening scene embedded below (narrated by director David Robert Mitchell). As the indie horror hit prepares to expand into over 1,600 theaters this weekend, below I've ranked 18 of the most iconic/frightening horror openings of all time from least to most scary. We never get tired of the story of Cinderella, and whether we know it or not, the version we never get tired of is the one put forth by Walt Disney 65 years ago. The 1950 animated feature, released 65 years ago this week (on February 15, 1950) was an instant classic, and its this version we think of when we imagine all the visual details of the story -- the slipper, the pumpkin, the fairy godmother, the mice, and Cinderella and Prince Charming dancing all over the palace grounds.
Still, as many times as we've heard the story or seen the cartoon, there's still more to be mined from the 17th-century fairy tale. (Indeed, Disney is releasing a new live-action retelling next month.) As many times as you've seen the 1950 classic, there's plenty you may not know about it -- how the actress who played Cinderella landed the part without even knowing she'd auditioned,...

Clips of It’s A Wonderful Life appear in all sorts of TV shows and films, some predictable Christmas fare and some you might not expect…
Thanks to NBC’s long-standing tradition of airing Frank Capra’s 1946 festive fantasy drama every 24th of December, It’s A Wonderful Life has become a Stateside Christmas institution. The film’s story of a small town family man facing financial ruin being coaxed back from suicide by an angel who shows him how important he is to the world is now as festive as overspending and overeating.
Its ubiquity means that It’s A Wonderful Life is one of the first ports of call when shows and movies want to inject a festive feel into their fictional worlds, hence it having been subject to more on-screen references, quotes, parodies and homages than you can shake a jingle bell at. The Muppets, The Simpsons,...

In life, as on The Voice, the accomplishment-to-praise threshhold is not always a balanced one.
Your three-year-old makes a wee-wee on the potty, and you treat him like he’s earned the Nobel Prize in toilet-training. You make it to the gym on a Monday morning (after failing to go even once the week prior), and you’re suddenly Rocky atop the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It doesn’t matter that you had to crawl the last 10 feet to ascend the peak, you’re the heavyweight champ of your own feel-good movie.

With everything going on in her life, both personally and professionally, it’s hard to believe that Coco Rocha has time for anything additional.
However, the 26-year-old model/author is currently gearing up to become a mother as she and her husband James Conran will welcome a bundle of joy in the months ahead.
Coco posted a video to Instagram with the caption, “We are absolutely thrilled and elated to announce that after four years of marriage we are expanding our family and expecting our first child spring of 2015!”
Ms. Rocha previously told People that when she has kiddos, they won’t call her mother Rocky “Grandma.” “They have to call her by her first name. I think this is a new thing, women not wanting to be called grandma.”...

Firmly establishing itself as a people’s festival (it being the best of the other festivals, Clare Stewart and her team acknowledging they can’t compete on world premieres), it will look to build on last year’s impressive new direction.

"We didn't want any of the bullshit," former Talking Heads drummer Chris Frantz says about Stop Making Sense, the band's influential 1984 concert film. "We didn't want the clichés. We didn't want close-ups of people's fingers while they're doing a guitar solo. We wanted the camera to linger, so you could get to know the musicians a little bit."

This week’s show aired on Memorial Day. I would be remiss if I didn’t give a special mention to those service men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. I know this day is about remembrance but I’d also like to salute all those who are currently serving this great nation. I hear from many soldiers who are proud members of Bachelor Nation. I love that this show can entertain and give you even a moment of rest from the great service you provide our country. It’s not nearly enough but, thank you.

At the end of the most recent season of his superb FX series, Louis C.K. made an unusual pass at long-form storytelling. “Late Show” finds Louie at its most overtly dramatic and—for a show that regularly exults in narrative ellipsis and melancholia—its most accessible as well. It tells the story, over three episodes, of our hero’s unlikely journey to succeed an apparently retiring David Letterman. As an increasingly confident director, C.K. has continued to explore more adventurous possibilities. Louie is essentially a hybrid of the comedian’s impulses as a stand-up and as a straight-ahead sketch writer. The man on stage, with all his fear and responsibility and desire and dread, is dropped into a world conceived to afflict these very qualities, a world that must be endured. The jokes come later, when we can make sense of it all. Whatever truth is to be discovered...

Sarah McLachlan is in serious shape! The 46-year-old singer-songwriter surprised fans when she showed off her toned beach body in a series of Instagram pictures. Baring her abs in a black bikini top, McLachlan posted a photo of herself hanging with her "new friend Rocky and his cousin after surfing" during "spring break" in Oahu, Hawaii. Humorously, McLachlan also showed fans "a not so graceful exit out of the water after surfing." On Sunday, the "Building a Mystery" singer also posted pictures of herself "paddling the calm waters of Waikiki" and of her 6-year-old daughter, Taja Sood, riding her "first wave" in the Pacific Ocean. McLachlan has long been a fan...

Actor and producer who played Brad Majors in the original Rocky Horror Show in 1973 and Saffy's gay dad in Ab Fab
Christopher Malcolm, who has died of cancer aged 67, played Brad Majors in the original production of The Rocky Horror Show in 1973 and, as his life as an actor started to overlap with an interest in producing the shows themselves, he became, after co-producing the West End revival of Rocky Horror in 1990, the executive in charge of all subsequent worldwide productions.
His death came just a few days after his latest project, the revival of Oh What a Lovely War at Stratford East, opened to enthusiastic notices, probably sealing a West End transfer. The way the show turned out was a good example of the kind of creative partnerships he enjoyed and nurtured throughout his career. The American remake of We Are What We Are (review) hits VOD on December 17, and while the Mexican thriller of the same name is superior, Jim Mickle’s take on ritualistic cannibalism is a damned fine film in its own right and certainly one of the better cannibal-centric movies to come out recently.
Making a list of the “best” cannibal movies out there is a fool’s errand, if only because it invariably leads to someone saying I have no idea what I’m talking about because I left this film or that film off the list, prompting me to question everything I know and love. You proud of yourself now?
Therefore, instead of a “Best Cannibal Films” list, I’m treating you to a list of my favorite cannibal-centric movies. And no, Cannibal Holocaust is not on the list ‘cause that movie is gross and made me leave the room twice while watching it.

Taylor may have taken the high road in not commenting on how she felt about Selena and Justin’s relationship — but did she reveal that Justin actually cheated and Selena took him back?
When Taylor Swift sat down with Glamour UK, she admitted that she and Bff Selena Gomez “laughed hysterically” after reading a report staying she didn’t think Justin Bieber was good enough. She didn’t deny that she ever said it, but she didn’t throw him under the bus — at least not in that answer.
Taylor Swift Reveals Justin Bieber Cheated On Selena Gomez?
“Does it matter?” Taylor answered when asked if it was true that she said Justin wasn’t good enough.
However, when talking about her own relationships, she mentioned “deal breakers” — and said a comment that made us think she could be revealing that Justin cheated on Selena:
Here’s what I’ve learned about deal-breakers.

At Dragon Con a few weeks ago, I was delighted to catch up with voice actor John Dimaggio (a.k.a. Bender from Futurama) once again. John was at the con for several voice actor and Futurama panels, and also to continue spreading the word about his new voice actor documentary, I Know That Voice, which I interviewed him and the other producers about during San Diego Comic-Con. John was actually selling limited collector’s edition/advance copies of the documentary at the con, so not only did I check in with him on further documentary news, but I also snagged a copy of the film! Read on for our short I Know That Voice follow-up interview, and my review of the documentary!
What has the reception to the I Know That Voice documentary been at Dragon Con, and have you sold some of the advance copies?
It’s been really wonderful.

Last year we ran a schedule of every TV/Cable network schedule we could find that could be construed as Horror or Halloween related for the month of October. Let’s just say it proved useful for our readers and even for our staff when they were looking to find something to watch, wanted to program their DVR’s or didn’t want to miss out on some great “live” Horror. Isn’t there something about having a movie fed to you on TV as opposed to watching it on Blu-ray or DVD or streaming? We may not like commercials, but the randomness that you can associate with a TV program itinerary is novel. It removes a little bit of control from the audience who is all to concerned with being in control these days (just look at the reasons behind publishing a piece like this).
