Well here we are: Steven Soderbergh has graced us with his final theatrical film effort, with Beyond the Candelabra signing his career off on HBO later this Spring. You wouldn’t be able to tell from looking, as he leaves everything on the field with Side Effects. Be it the cinematography, the performances, even the musical score; everything seems to oppress and sedate in this film, and only to the story’s advantage. When first announced, people were expecting a film more like Contagion, which was also written by Scott Z. Burns. This film is not anything like Contagion in the sense that instead of putting social relevance and verisimilitude to the forefront, Soderbergh wants to leave us entertained and thrilled. Side Effects delivers on both fronts, and then some.
Dr. Jonathan Banks (Jude Law) works hard at what he does in the field of Psychiatry.

The best novelists create a world around the reader. You can feel it bubbling up in irrepressible invention. So we have "a guy by the name of Booker, a twenty-five-year old super-dude twice convicted felon" in his Jacuzzi when the telephone rings. No one answers it, and Booker gets out of the Jacuzzi. At the other end of the line, a woman, Moselle, asks him to sit down. When he does, she informs him that he's triggered a bomb in the chair – "when you get up, honey, what's left of your ass is gonna go clear through the ceiling". The bomb-disposal boys arrive in their nonchalant way: "Booker said 'Another one goes hmmmmm. I'm sitting here on high explosives the motherfucker goes hmmmmm.'" Is there a bomb?...

It's all about the actual All-Star Game today, with the big game set to take place in Arizona, but just days ago Nick Jonas had the pleasure of playing in the Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game, where he threw around the ball alongside celebs and legends like Bernie Williams, Mike Piazza and Ernie Banks.
"I was approached about being a part of the celebrity softball game at All-Star weekend and I'm obviously a huge baseball fan," he told MTV News about the chance to play alongside fellow celebs like Jordin Sparks and Chord Overstreet. "So I'm excited to get my softball in."
You see, the chance to play meant even more for Nick, since his team, The Road Dogs, isn't playing this season. Why? Well, Nick and his famous brothers, Joe and Kevin, aren't touring this summer.

If you had any doubt that Hollywood was reliant on big movie franchises, let them be eradicated right about now...
As has long been the case, sequels are a reliable way of making plenty of cash from recognisable names. They've been a part of the Hollywood filmmaking process for decades, and as this list of 95 sequels currently in the works proves, will continue to be so for as long as we stump up the cash to go and see them.
We've been doing this list annually for a couple of years now, and this year's collection is, perhaps unsurprising, the longest round-up of upcoming sequels that we've done. Still, given that there are nearly a hundred sequels listed below, we're a little sad to see that Hollywood's people in suits couldn't find room for a belated return to Mac And Me...

The novelist who wrote the book behind George Clooney's breakthrough movie Out Of Sight is urging the actor to reprise his role for a sequel.
The Hollywood heart-throb made a successful transfer from TV to the big screen when he landed the part of charming bank robber Jack Foley, opposite Jennifer Lopez, in the 1998 thriller.
The film was based on the 1996 book of the same name by Elmore Leonard, the writer behind Get Shorty and Rum Punch, which was adapted as Quentin Tarantino's 1997 movie Jackie Brown.
The author released a sequel to his original book, Road Dogs, last year and he has sent a copy to Clooney in the hope the actor will bring the character back to the big screen.
Leonard tells Britain's Daily Mail, "Clooney is one of the few actors who can deliver the words exactly the way that I heard them when I wrote them. I've sent the new book to George. The role is the same guy as Out Of Sight. I don't know if he's read it yet though."...

Kevin Jonas is likely to have used a tattoo to express his devotion to wife Danielle Deleasa. Taking off his wedding band when appearing in a new Road Dogs video on Cambio, the oldest member of the Jonas Brothers flashed what seems to be a permanent ink on his ring finger, which allegedly spells his wife's nickname Dani.
The Jason Gray of "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" and Danielle first met in May 2007 while they were vacationing with their families in the Bahamas. The twosome tied the knot in December 2009 at Oheka Castle. In a previous chat with USA Today, the older brother of Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas claims he isn't rushing to have kids because he and Danielle are "just enjoying each other" at this time.

The Jonas Brothers are done burnin' up baseball diamonds. At least for the season. Kevin, Joe and Nick brought their softball team, the Road Dogs, to Cal State Long Beach's Blair Field on Sunday to play the final game of a 12-city tour on behalf of "X the Txt," a campaign designed to raise awareness among teens about the dangers of texting while driving. But before taking the field, we just had to ask the all-important question: Of the three, who comes equipped with superior sandlot skills? "I think the most athletic and the one who would dive for the ball the most would be Kev— Nick," revealed Joe. "I almost said Kevin." "I was like,...

Next year, Justin Bieber fans will have the chance to see the singer's story retold on the big screen in a 3-D movie currently in the works. But Bieber won't be the first teen pop star to land in theaters in multiple dimensions.
He joins the likes of Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers, both of whom have already had their live performances delivered to fans in 3-D. And while a director still needs to be chosen for the flick, the JoBros had some advice for Bieber as he prepares to shoot.
"Have fun. It's a really fun experience," Joe told MTV News last week at their Road Dogs baseball game in Joliet, Illinois, just before the brothers kicked off their tour. "The...

Chicago — On Friday (August 6), the Jonas Brothers kicked off another Road Dogs season on the eve of their big tour kickoff. They were not only there to pursue their love of all things baseball, but also to shed light on a cause they say needs more attention.
"We're a part of the X the Text campaign with our sponsor Allstate, which is an amazing thing," Kevin Jonas told MTV News only minutes before taking the field. "So many teen drivers and drivers out there have accidents texting while driving, and it's such a [great] thing to bring awareness to this."

Newark, New Jersey — When the Jonas Brothers get some free time, they like to spend it playing softball. So, on Wednesday (July 15), the boys and their team, the Road Dogs, comprised of their road crew and dad Kevin Jonas Sr., decided to play some ball at the Riverfront Stadium just hours before their sold-out concert at the nearby Izod Center.
The boys — Nick plays shortstop, Kevin is right-fielder and Joe is short center — all gathered before the big game to talk to MTV News. Kevin, who was donning a pair of white loafers, swore that he'd change into cleats before the game.
The guys, who played another softball game for charity earlier this week, explained why they chose to name their team the Road Dogs.

Play ball! Joe, Kevin and Nick Jonas took to the field on Monday to play a game of softball at AOL's Dulles campus in Sterling, Virginia. But the game wasn't just an opportunity for the JoBros to showcase their mad softball skills. The match was a fundraiser for the Change for the Children Foundation, which the group founded. In addition to other donations made, AOL kicked in $100 for every home run hit during the game, according to the Loudon Independent. The JoBros' Road Dogs team eventually beat the AOL All-Stars 15-13, and $2,900 was raised for Change for the Children, which creates programs...
