Female Prisoners on a Weekend Pass
Uriah4329 February 2016
This movie essentially begins with a shower scene--which is almost obligatory for women-in-prison (WIP) films-that quickly escalates into an all-female brawl. However, upon being taken to the warden they discover that their infraction of the rules has in no way jeopardized their weekend furlough which is typically granted to inmates who have only a few months remaining on their sentence. The reason behind the furlough is to see whether these women can adapt to civilian life upon being released. Anyway, having been locked up for a great while these 6 women immediately gravitate to the men they left behind. It's at this point that the movie focuses on the sexual circumstances each of these women encounter. For example, the first scenario involves a female prisoner named "Kay Rivers" (Jacqueline Giroux) who was a prostitute prior to her incarceration and returns to her pimp boyfriend, "Mike" (Jason Williams). Unfortunately, when she gets there she discovers that Mike has adapted quite well without her and has a couple of other young ladies as competitors for his affections as well. That being the case, Kay realizes that she has to do something about the situation and she ends up doing exactly that. The next scenario involves a woman known simply as "Frank's wife" (Barbara Mills) who was frigid prior to entering prison and believes that if she can have an orgasm with her husband that it will solve all of their marital problems. As might be expected the scenes involving the other prisoners have their own individual characteristics as well. In any case, this movie was plagued by its low-budget nature which resulted in a very shallow plot, sub-standard acting and a poorly written script. As a matter of fact, about the only thing going for this movie was the presence of a couple of fairly attractive actresses most notably Uschi Digard (as "Cindy") and to a lesser extent the aforementioned Barbara Mills. All things considered then I rate this movie as below average.

At least it's in 3D
BandSAboutMovies19 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Before Tom DeSimone made Hell Night, Reform School Girls and Savage Streets, he made "The First Real Adult Film in 3D!"

It's definitely in 3D but it's softcore, so while you can't show it to your mom, maybe you can share it with your dad. I don't know. What I do know is that it goes straight for women in prison movie convention by starting in the shower where Gertie (Annik Borel, the Werewolf Woman) attempts to get with Cindy (Uschi Digard!) but gets foiled when the other girls show up and say that Dr. Reinhardt is letting them go into the general population of the real world for two days as part of their rehabilitation.

None of it goes well, because the world outside is just as tough as prison. But you do get to see Candy Samples get her body painted and it's in 3D. The other ladies are Kay Rivers (Jacqueline Giroux, Linda from Trick or Treats as well as appearances in Drive-In Massacre and Cinderella 2000), Toni (Tracy Handfuss, A Clock Work Blue, Psyched by the 4D Witch), Joyce (Maria Arnold, Fantasm, Meatcleaver Massacre and Wam Bam Thank You Space Man) and Melba (Liz Wolfe, Fantasm Comes Again). Plus Linda York (Auditions, A Scream In the Streets), Marsha Jordan (Teen-Age Jail Bait), Neola Graef (Cries of Ecstasy, Blows of Death), Peggy Church (The Pig Keeper's Daughter) and Susan Landis (Blood Sabbath).

It's less a movie than a series of lovemaking scenes. One could argue that The Stewardesses was a 3D adult movie three years before, but look, the fact that Kino Lorber made this look so good really is a tribute to the fact that some amazing stuff is coming out on physical media that we had no idea that we'd ever get, much less have it in 3D.

More Nudity Than Any Other Picture of its Type?

Prison Girls (1972)

*** (out of 4)

Obviously influenced by the success of films like THE STUDENT NURSES, this rather sleazy exploitation picture has six females getting a weekend furlong out of prison so that they can reconnect with their outside lives before getting released for good in a couple months. For the male viewer's pleasure, all of the women in end in countless sex scenes. PRISON GIRLS is without question one of the wildest exploitation pictures I've ever seen. Yes, the story is stupid, the acting horrid and the filmmaking questionable but there's no question that director Tom DeSimone has gone all out and really delivered one of the most nudity-filled films you're ever going to see. In fact, there's so much nudity here that it really does seem like you're watching a XXX movie with just the hardcore stuff cut out. Even for a sexploitation picture this here is quite dirty because there's very few scenes where some sort of nudity isn't on screen. This is certainly a great thing for those male viewers watching. It also doesn't hurt that the majority of the girls are all extremely good looking and unlike other pictures, we're not just getting five or six women here but instead there are nearly two dozen that take their clothes off. This includes the final "segment" where Uschi Digard plays a woman having sex with her fugitive boyfriend. If you're a fan of these types of movies then you know what Digard brings to the screen. The film also has perhaps the greatest shower scene in shower scene history. All sorts of naked women appear to really be going at it because you'll notice all the bruises and marks that the "action" is leaving on them as the scene plays out. There's also a memorable biker gang/rape sequence, which is just downright bizarre to say the least. PRISON GIRLS isn't a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination but if you're a fan of sexploitation then it's a must see.

Natural is nice
maxtshea13 April 2015
Contrary to dominant standards, I and a millions of other men do enjoy, ahem, "natural" looking women in skin flicks. It is rather stimulating when today's generic models and actresses are so plucked, waxed, and buffed they look like store mannequins.

The reason I could give Prison Girls two stars is the copious amount of nudity throughout. Otherwise the movie is dreadfully tedious.

Prison Girls hearkens back to the time in which skin flicks had to be "educational" to pass the censor's muster. Thus, the sex therapy subplot is a weak attempt at social redemption.

The acting is amateur at best. The body painting artist is a wee bit funny. He makes one good Jewish joke.

The sex scenes are simulated flippy-floppy that cuts out before anything too heavy happens.

There is one harrowing rape scene with one of the girls and a motorcycle gang that, though comically rendered, might upset some viewers.

And yes, the music is terrible.

With the ready and free availability of more vintage pornography on the Internet than you can shake a stick it, Prison Girls is probably not worth your while, unless you're a fanatic for softcore b-movies.

Wow.
thelazyw26 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Even worse than we expected it to be, we fast-forwarded almost every bit of every scene, laughing uncomfortably or grimacing in between. This poorly strewn film is the reason the 1970s has such a trashy, UN-sexy place in history, cinematic & otherwise. Except for the prison therapist. She was Oscar worthy, right? Especially when she thrust her odd looking tape recorder microphone in the face of a female inmate to record an important interview session. Wow. Oh, and the high-tension "climax" scene (you are welcome) at the end of the movie, when the big criminal is finally apprehended. It was Bonnie & Clyde, only even less hot.

Sloppy looking hippies get nekked and nasty
b_crandell13 March 2002
Yet another poor excuse for sloppy 1970's hippies to get nekked and simulate fornication. My eyes still hurt from the 3D "effects" (I've seen better in a Three Stooges short). An abomination, especially since most of the "performers" could use a suntan and a few sessions on a StairMaster. It's bad enough to make your bowels loosen. A couple of the scenes look like Penthouse Forum letters in visual form, only really white trashy and with no budget. This film makes Caligula look like Citizen Kane.

great movie for fans of big tits
john229004 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is about 5 girls that are given two days apiece outside in a prison furlough program and their various adventures or misadventures during their individual free time.

Before the girls get to go on their furlough, there is a great shower sequence featuring Uschi Digard, who must surely be the undisputed queen of the soft-core nudies.

Candy Samples and her twin torpedoes make a cameo appearance when one of the girls visits a friend of hers who just happens to be an artist.

An artist in these kinds of pictures has a usually totally different meaning than in mainstream movies. The guy in this picture indulges in body painting. And one of the lovelies he paints is Candy. Lucky guy! Of course, body painting is such an easy job even an idiot could do it.

SPOILER ALERT! The last furlough in the film is when Uschi meets her criminal boyfriend who has just come back from a robbery. Disregarding the danger, Uschi and her boyfriend make hot monkey love in his apartment all the time looking over his shoulder to make sure she wasn't followed. Unfortunately, the cops somehow do find the hideout and there is a shootout. I've seen practically all Uschi's films and this must be one of the very few times when I've seen Uschi die in any movie!

i'll watch just about anything in 3D
rrrrob21 March 2018
I actually like cheesy drive-in sleaze, and I love 3D, so this fits the bill nicely. Yes, it was originally filmed in 3D and I have a really bad 3D copy, but still it's not bad considering that the genre is not represented in 3D elsewhere. In 2D, there are probably better choices but if you can catch it in 3D it's not bad. Think of it as a poor man's The Stewardesses.
