this movie BEEPs. really. I went to the film museum of Brussels to view this silent oldie because I was convinced that this movie would obtain a lot of qualities, like the origins of crime cinema. but I was wrong then and maybe I am wrong now to think the movie is boring. Julot der Apache must have been refreshing and original in that particular time. now it is cliché, but only because it invented our ideas of cliché crime pictures.
it's about a never ending battle between two crime gangs, but suddenly there's this Julot, who is powerful enough to destroy the two gangs. that's why the gangs try to win Julot.
in fact, that was what I thought it was about. there were only German title cards with sometimes a French title card. that's why the story was difficult for me to follow, even though I speak French as well as German. besides, the story was so cliché, it was dumb.
I left the film museum after 30 minutes of Julot der Apache.
