The Rolling Stones have plenty of great albums. Many made them incredibly popular during the late 1960s, even compared to their main rival, The Beatles. However, Mick Jagger doesn’t look fondly back on one album, which he believes only has “two good songs.”

Their Satanic Majesties Request is the sixth British and eighth American studio album by The Rolling Stones, released in 1967. The album sees the band experimenting with a more psychedelic sound, incorporating unique elements like sound effects and African rhythms.
Upon its release, the album was met with mixed reviews from critics. While many acknowledged it had a few good songs, the album didn’t work as a whole for many, and the psychedelic sound felt out of place for the Stones. However, Their Satanic Majesties Request was still a successful album,...

John Lennon insulted The Rolling Stones’ “We Love You.” In addition, he said The Rolling Stones’ Their Satanic Majesties Request as a carbon copy of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. His opinions were too narrow-minded.
The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger | Evening Standard / Stringer John Lennon said The Rolling Stones’ ‘We Love You’ was a rip-off of ‘All You Need Is Love’
The Beatles wrote a lot about love. They gave us “Love Me Do,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “She Loves You,” “All You Need Is Love,” “She Loves You,” “All My Loving,” “And I Love Her,” and “Love You To.” They also wrote numerous other songs that focus on love without having “love” in the title.

The Beatles‘ Rubber Soul is one of the most beloved classic rock albums of all time. It’s often considered the band’s most extensive foray into folk-rock music. Despite this, some of the great songs on the album aren’t folk songs.
The Beatles | Icon and Image / Contributor 5. ‘The Word’
The Beatles gave us a lot of songs about love, including “All You Need Is Love,” “Love Me Do,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Love You To,” And I Love Her,” “Real Love,” “She Loves You,” and “All My Loving,” just to name a few. “The Word” is another meditation on the subject, but it stands out because of those chic 1960s guitars. Here, The Beatles prove they were just as good at harmonizing as The Beach Boys when they wanted to be. If only this track was a single from The Beatles’ Rubber Soul!

There are a handful of classic rock songs about John Lennon. For example, Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen” is about the fear she felt following John’s death. Gerge Harrison also wrote a famous song about the “Imagine” singer.
John Lennon | Max Scheler – K & K / Contributor 5. Bob Dylan’s ‘Roll on John’
Bob Dylan released “Roll on John” on his 2012 album Tempest. During a 2020 interview with The New York Times, Dylan discussed the song. “Those kinds of songs for me just come out of the blue, out of thin air,” he said. “I never plan to write any of them. But in saying that, there are certain public figures that are just in your subconscious for one reason or another.
“None of those songs with designated names are intentionally written,” he added. “They just fall down from space. I’m just as bewildered as anybody else as to why I write them.

The Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun” is surprisingly popular given its history. It never charted on the Billboard Hot 100. The tune pales in comparison to other folk songs by The Beatles and other uplifting songs by the band. The cover of The Beatles’ ‘Abbey Road’ | Krafft Angerer / Stringer
The Beatles‘ “Here Comes the Sun” is one of the most famous tunes in the Fab Four’s catalog. It’s probably their most overrated song. In addition, “Here Comes the Sun” is not their best song about the sun.
Why The Beatles’ ‘Here Comes the Sun’ was unlikely to become a famous song
Abbey Road is one of The Beatles’ most famous albums. It includes major hits like “Come Together” and “Something” alongside lesser-known gems like “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” and “Oh! Darling.” Possibly the most well-remembered tune on the album is “Here Comes the Sun.

"If anyone earned the title of the fifth Beatle, it was George," Sir Paul McCartney wrote Wednesday after the death of legendary producer George Martin. That's no small tribute, but Martin earned it. Aside from signing the Beatles when no one else would - a laurel plenty of people would have been happy to rest on - he worked closely with the group in the studio, where he and Abbey Road engineer Geoff Emerick embarked on a series of musical innovations that made the Beatles' discography as groundbreaking as it was catchy. Below, some of Martin's best moments with the group.

John Lennon once said “All You Need Is Love.”
However, as great a sentiment as that is, some people also need jobs too. As much as they would like to lie around in bed all day, growing beards and philosophising about yellow underwater vehicles, the need to earn cash for most people is overwhelming.
People like money. They like to hold it, fold it, count it, talk to it, sleep with it and some people even like to imitate rainfall with it. While all those things are fun and even quite sexy, most try to obtain money so they can keep a roof over their head and purchase everyday essentials such as cheese, action figures and jewel-encrusted barbecues.
Once these goods are snapped up, the secondary run-of-the-mill acquisitions are next, thus depleting your large stash of numerous, crisp bills into a feeble, almost singular book-marker looking stack.

Glee, Season 5, Episode 1, “Love, Love, Love “
Written by Brad Falchuk
Directed by Bradley Buecker
Airs Thursday 9pm Et on Fox
Last season wore many Glee fans down. Blow after emotional blow, we watched the best and the brightest characters crumble under life’s pressures. The Rachel/Finn, aka Finchel, and Kurt/Blaine, aka Klaine, breakups were both particularly cruel and many fans spent the majority of season four wishing and hoping to see both couples reconcile. Despite the angst of broken dreams, infidelity, cancer, and teenage heart break that Gleeks suffered through last season, it’s clear at some point during the summer hiatus, the writers decided to get back to the glee in Glee, and this season opener is proof of that.
Klainers across the globe are rejoicing. Perhaps the most steadfast shippers on this planet earth, each has been waiting un-patiently for the couple’s reunion. Blaine takes...

Here’s what you missed on Glee: Brittany landed a scholarship to MIT and left high school in the middle of the year to pursue her secret Ravenclaw dreams. Rachel got a callback to play Fanny Brice in the revival of Funny Girl on Broadway. Blaine bought an engagement ring from a lesbian couple who afflicted him with Immediate Forever Syndrome. Sam developed an allergy to scissors. And New New Directions won Regionals with one of Sweet Marley Rose‘s original compositions. (The one about puppies and kittens frolicking over a rainbow hand-in-hand with baskets of sprinkle-cupcakes for homeless people.)
Rachel Berry kills at her Funny Girl callback because she has been practicing for this exact moment for all of her whole life, but the director cuts her short and the leading man blows off her fawning because she is only 18, after all, and her one major accomplishment in...

The third episode of Glee Season 5 will feature a moving tribute to Cory Monteith.
Why not the September 26th opener? Because producers had already been hard at work on a double dose of The Beatles when Monteith tragically passed away of a drug overdose.
Indeed, the premiere will be titled "Love, Love, "Love" and will feature Will tasking New Directions with covering songs by this iconic group; while the second outing will be titled "Tina in the Sky with Diamonds" after Tina is nominated for Prom Queen.

Filmmaker Tony Palmer has said that "the real Adele" would be a fascinating subject for a music documentary.
The Leonard Cohen: Bird on a Wire and The World of Liberace director also told Digital Spy that he turned down the chance to work with U2 before they made Rattle and Hum.
"I missed my chance with Adele," Palmer said.
"My wife had spotted Adele long before she had become really famous and said, 'You've got to listen to this voice, it's really amazing'.
"I agreed it was amazing, but I said, 'I don't make that kind of film anymore'. Then I saw a brief interview with her and I thought, my god this is a fascinating woman - to hell with the voice, it's a fascinating woman."
He added: "I immediately applied. I wrote to them, saying 'Would you ever consider...' I had a very good response from whoever looked after her then.

Filmmaker Tony Palmer has said that recent Liberace biopic Behind The Candelabra did the musician a "monumental disservice".
The director of 1976 documentary The World of Liberace, based on the musician's own coffee table book The Things I Love, told Digital Spy that he had mixed feelings about the biopic.
"It's nowhere near as good a film as some people have said, and it's nowhere near as bad a film as many people who love Liberace have said," Palmer said.
"Steven Soderbergh is a very good director and its a very skilfully made film. I think Matt Damon has never given as good a performance as Scott Thorson. On one level, I was greatly relieved that it was nowhere near as bad as I feared it was going to be."
He continued: "Of course Michael Douglas does not look like Liberace, that's not his fault... I don't give a toss about that.
The director of 1976 documentary The World of Liberace, based on the musician's own coffee table book The Things I Love, told Digital Spy that he had mixed feelings about the biopic.

Filmmaker Tony Palmer has said that Leonard Cohen is as important a figure as Bob Dylan.
Palmer directed 1972 documentary film Bird on a Wire, which was shelved on completion before being discovered and reconstructed from its original rushes for its 2010 re-release.
"It's not every day you make a film some 38 years ago and then you suddenly manage to rescue it and piece it back together," Palmer told Digital Spy.
"People's reactions were amazing. I was absolutely gobsmacked. I really was... It actually took longer to piece the jigsaw back together again than it had done to make the original film."
He continued: "When we made it in 1972, Leonard was absolutely at the peak of his form. The great early songs. I thought he had a wonderful voice - he was always very dismissive about his voice.
"Although he's remained a fantastic performer, his voice is not what he was... this...

On this day in 1967, the Beatles made television history... again.
Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and John Lennon debuted their soon-to-be hit single, "All You Need Is Love," as part of the world's first live international telecast. The BBC asked the Beatles to create and perform the song for their "Our World" program, which had different countries produce segments that best reflected its culture, according Wzlx.com.
Naturally, the Beatles were selected as the UK's representative. The resulting performance on June 25, 1967, was a technological feat at the time, beamed out to more than 400 million people in 26 countries. With the feel-good song backed by an orchestra and a few of the band's good friends like Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger, you can see why it's also one of the Beatles' most iconic TV moments.
To remember this moment in history, here is a sampling of classic Beatles television moments we'll never forget.

London -- At the London Olympics, Adele is served with tennis, Beyonce bounces around the basketball court and Queen's "We Will Rock You" spikes up beach volleyball.
A walk around Olympic Park is a non-stop musical mystery tour – all part of a boisterous music policy that aims to keep spectators pumped up.
Songs waft from speakers mounted on poles and from buskers dotted around the park. Half-heard snatches of music mix with the booming roar of the crowds coming from venues.
The music is inescapable – but for visitors and staff, mostly welcome.
"It's kind of `down with the kids' music," said volunteer Olympic worker Anna Letts, standing outside the main stadium. "Poppy, modern – no old songs.

The Grassroots Shakespeare Company UK have officially kicked off the start of the free Scoop Theatre festival right near Tower Bridge. Originally founded in the Us, a UK company was formed last year and I was lucky enough to catch their debut performance of A Midsummer Nights Dream at the Victoria Embankment Gardens. Their approach is unique: no director, minimal sets, minimal costumes and no proverbial fourth wall. It all makes for a highly-energised and fun take on the work of our beloved Shakespeare.

Former Beatle Paul McCartney married for the third time on Sunday, taking his vows at the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall in London where he wed first wife Linda Eastman in 1969. McCartney, 69, tied the knot with American trucking company heiress Nancy Shevell, 51.
Unlike his lavish 2002 wedding to former model Heather Mills, which ended in a bitter divorce in 2008, Sunday's affair was a quiet one, attended by close friends and family, including former bandmate Ringo Starr and wife Barbara Bach, ex-Beatle George Harrison's widow, Olivia, Shevell's son, Arlen, and her second cousin, "View" host Barbara Walters. Shevell wore a dress designed by McCartney's daughter Stella, and the "Maybe I'm Amazed" singer slipped a...

For the first time since the Fab Four pranced their way through the inane non-plot of Richard Lester‘s Help! in 1965, a Beatles-themed movie will feature music by the actual Beatles and not cover songs (Across the Universe) or the Motown covers the boys themselves rocked during their pre-fame Hamburg days (Backbeat). Stage producer Vivek Tiwary (The Addams Family, American Idiot) has “ironclad rights” to a load of classic tunes for a biopic of the band’s late manager Brian Epstein, whom Paul McCartney called the “fifth Beatle” [THR]. (To be fair, the early-days-of-John Lennon bio Nowhere Boy had the Lennon-McCartney song ‘Hello Little Girl,’ but it doesn’t count because I’ll bet you don’t know how it goes. I don’t either.)
Tiwary has the rights to the following classics, with the odd option to “swap out” later for other songs “if we decide to change the...

Last year director Robert Zemeckis started work on his 3D motion capture CG animated film Yellow Submarine based of the classic album and animated film from The Beatles. He had cast Cary Elwes to play George Harrison, Dean Lennox Kelly to play John Lennon, Peter Serafinowicz to play Paul McCartney and Adam Campbell to play Ringo Starr. It doesn't look like the movie is going to happen anytime soon.
Accroding to THR Disney has killed the film project due to the poor performance of Mars Needs Moms this past weekend, which Zemekis produced through his Image Movers. The $150 million dollar CGI animated movie only made $6.9 million at the box office. It 's also reported that there were budget issues as well. But it was the Mars box office return that put the final nail in the coffin. That was a huge loss!

U2 frontman Bono marked the 30th anniversary of John Lennon's death on Wednesday, December 8 by singing The Beatles songs throughout the band's gig in Australia. Lennon was gunned down outside his New York apartment on December 8, 1980 and fans flocked to the Big Apple to mark the poignant anniversary, while tributes were paid all across the world.
The Irish rockers were in Brisbane, Australia on Wednesday and the singer proved he had not forgotten the landmark date by launching into an anthem by the Fab Four during their show at the Suncorp Stadium. After finishing a rendition of U2's "Beautiful Day", Bono stirred the crowd by performing a segment from The Beatles' "In My Life".
He went on to sing a number of the band's hits, including "Rain", "Dear Prudence", and "All You Need Is Love", as well as Ben E. King's "Stand by Me", which was covered by Lennon in the 1970s.

Jenny has been spotted out with a new guy Twice since splitting with Jim Carrey in April — and he’s helping her to cut down on carbs!

John Lennon's handwritten lyrics for the The Beatles' song "A Day in the Life" are expected to sell for as much as $700,000 when they go under the hammer in New York in June. The lyrics appear on a double-sided sheet of paper, which includes corrections and amendments made in red ink.
"A Day in the Life" is the final track on the band's 1967 "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album and recently came 26th in Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 greatest songs of all time poll. Lennon's writings aren't expected to break the record for Beatles lyrics, set by "All You Need Is Love", which fetched $1 million in 2005.
The lyrics sheet previously belonged to Beatles' road manager Mal Evans. The song itself has a historical element for The BBC banned it from being aired due to lyrics that encouraged drug use.

Is it weird that the entire time I've been readying myself to write this story I've been singing the title aloud to the tune of The Beatles song "All You Need Is Love"? I just can't stop either. See? I bet you're doing it now. Yep, just try and stop.
Anyway, according to Deadline New York Warner Brothers has secured the rights to bring us a big screen adaptation of the Japanese novel All You Need Is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.

This is a great week for content on both the Psn as well as retail shelves.
This Tuesday, one of the most highly anticipated titles of the year will hit your local game-seller. Final Fantasy Xiii may have received a few mixed review out the gate in Japan but has steadily built a core group of supporters who are heralding the title along side other fan-favorite installments to the franchise. PS3 owners will also get the definitive Final Fantasy Xiii experience which runs at full 1080p on a single Blu-ray disc as opposed to the lower resolution, 3-Disc DVD set Xbox players will receive.

Also, if you pre-ordered Heavy Rain,...
