From a modern viewpoint this cartoon is a terrible mixture of cutesy and horrific elements. We have here a soprano chorus singing the nursery rhyme about the three little kittens. We have candy-box animation. We have gun play and third-degree beatings and threats of hanging and, ickiest of all, we have Bernice Hansen doing the voice work -- she was a specialist in cute kiddie voices for the cartoons, starting with Bosko and Honey and also working, at the time, as Sniffles the Mouse for Chuck Jones over at Termite Terrace.
All of this is put together adequately by Alex Lovy, near the beginning of his long career as Lantz' general-purpose director. The result is far from the studio's best work.
