Anemic vampire flick.
HumanoidOfFlesh23 December 2010
"Anemia" is a satirical horror film made by Alberto Abruzzese and based on his own novel.Hanns Zischler plays a 40-year-old a high-placed officer of an Italian Communist Party, who discovers that he is a vampire and deserts Communist Party and life companion to take refuge in the abandoned house of his grandfather;there he finds the old man's diary which describes some obsessions very similar to his own.Bizarre and pretty dull Communist vampire flick with not enough blood and sinister atmosphere to satisfy fans of cult Italian horror.According to some sources "Anemia" is a a commentary on the difficulty of the old Italian Communist Party in adapting to the changes that transformed it into the post-communist Democrat Party of the Left.I was generally bored, but I must say that reading of a diary was Lovecraftian.5 lonely communists out of 10.
