This was Deep Purple's third visit to Poland (3.06.1996), and the first with Ritchie Blackmore's successor - Steve Morse. The band was promoting, definitely the best Purple album of the nineties - "Purpendicular" (released in Feb 1996). It was also my first encounter with the band playing live and I was very excited when the lights went down and I heard the first song - "Fireball" (from the album of the same title - my favorite Mk 2 studio album). I was thrilled with the way the band sounded. It didn't seem that they had been playing for 30 years. They sounded so very fresh and newly. I was in seventh heaven. My favourite moments of the concert were: "Fireball", "Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming", "No One Came" and "Smoke on the Water" (of course!). That was a very special night I won't ever forget. From that time I saw DP live two more times - in June 1998 (The "Abandon" tour) and more recently in November 2000, with an orchestra.
