UFC is a SPORT... not a bloodbath.

UFC is not a "rule-less" battle between 2 guys going at it for "blood and money". It is a genuine venue for martial artists of different kinds to fight with other fighters who practice different MAs themselves. Many of these fighters, no... ALL of these fighters train ARDUOUSLY, and by arduously I mean 6 to 7 days a week, 50-70 hours a week, on a very strict diet, sometimes training from 2 or even 3 times a DAY! Many of them go train in conditions where there is low oxygen levels (ie. the mountains) to condition their bodies to handle long periods of strenuous activity to better withstand the 3- 5 minute rounds. This is a REAL sport, where these guys don't practice a sport, they live it. They have to. And I have seen it all first hand, as my boyfriend is a jiu-jitsu fighter. Each round is scored by points, points taken away every time a fighter is taken down, submitted, or KOed. There is blood, and most likely it was an elbow to the head, and that is part of Muay Thai... another martial art. If you are unaware to the rules and the way of the sport, of course it will seem to be a senseless punch-fest, so does football... just looks like a bunch of guys running into each other. But there is strategy. Inform yourself as to the rules and strategies of the fight, the strengths and weaknesses of the fighters and you will find yourself ADDICTED to the sport with the fastest growth in likability in the country. MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) IS TAKING OVER!! P.S. And no, they can't kick each other in the balls.
