Beautifully acted, filmed and produced
HarryC-au1 July 2005
This is a real gem. The story follows Sophie Amundsen, a 15 year old Nowegian girl living with her batty mother, as she is in confronted by life's deep, dark questions. "Who are you?" reads a letter, dropped anonymously in her letterbox. "Where does the world come from?" asks another.

The series intertwines reality and supernatural elements, as we meet Alberto Knox, Sophie's mysterious mentor, and journey through the history of philosophy, from Socrates to Plato.

Silje Storstein acts the lead part beautifully, and the filming of this series is unusual and captivating. This is a wonderful and enchanting way to learn about philosophy. It's exceptionally well produced, the suspenseful music and satisfying camera-work make for a very sophisticated series.

A very enriching experience.
