The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invited the filmmakers to screen the film in its Contemporary Documentary Series - alongside Oscar winners and nominees.
The film was invited to be screened at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
The documentary received considerable publicity when the town of East Hampton, Long Island banned one of the film's whimsical kinetic sculptures from its streets during the Hamptons International Film Festival, deeming the "Giant Duck" vehicle too "rinky-dink."
