Bad "Making Of" Trailer
Calaboss1 May 2011
This is essentially a "making of" feature about the movie Far from the Madding Crowd. I'm guessing it was used as a trailer in theaters to garner interest in the movie, but it is one of the worst "making of" shorts I've seen, despite some nice location shots of Dorset, England.

It's as if they couldn't decide whether to make a traditional movie trailer, showing various scenes from the movie, or a full blown, behind the scenes "making of" short subject, of the type you find as an extra on modern movie DVD's. The result is that it doesn't do justice to either idea. This combination idea was accomplished better with Van Gogh: Darkness Into Light.

I'm not sure how this short garnered the high rating it has here on IMDb, as it's a pretty lackluster affair. Perhaps fans are looking at it through their fond emotions for the actual movie.
