Brilliant Film, Should've been a Feature.
Un-Cha1 March 2001
Sanford Bookstaver's directorial debut, Scriptfellas, effectively show us that it is merely the beginning of a bright and long career. Bookstaver, along with a great cast and an even greater production team deliver a condensed feature film in thirty-five minutes giving us comedy, drama, and some great Goodfellas references. With Paul Sorvino as the legendary Uncle Paulie, Scriptfellas tells the story of a film school grad trying to break into the business and the lengths he will go to do it. Acting as both Co-Writer and Director, Sanford, along with Jeff Simon, the film's Producer, successfully deliver the idea that the Mafia control Hollywood, which often times, doesn't seen too far from the truth. It is a little hard to get a hold of this film, but my advice is find it, watch it, and enjoy. Un-Cha

Kudos for the XP's

Brilliant film

I have two words to describe this film, truly brilliant. I got a hold of a copy of this film through a friend's production company here in London, I must say that I was quite impressed. I believe it I will set the standard for shorts that truly aspire to give audiences the feeling watching an actual movie or short story. Highly recommend it.

They should study this "short" at USC Film School....

The casting was perfect...Paul Sorvino? enough said. The Writing and Directing was sensational; taking a mix of established as well as up-and-coming actors/actresses to another level of "inside" Hollywood humor was made to look easy. Sandy Bookstaver absolutely nailed the direction in the "boardroom" scene as well as the "trailer" scene. Who could possibly pull all of this together and make it work like a well-oiled machine? Jeff Simon. If you can produce a short this good then I am thinking you better get more than one cell phone 'cause people are gonna come calling. I hear the "behind the scenes" footage on the DVD is unreal...........nice job gentlemen.
