Gay porn, not as romantic as the title would suggest
lor_31 July 2015
Something Weird preserved this very ordinary Gay porno movie from the '70s as part of its indelicately titled Glory Hole series. It smells, by any name.

Film opens with a couple in an arboretum, talking in quite effeminate fashion. The bespectacled guy recalls sexual experiences. First flashback has Chuck and Terry humping as an imitation disco style of Morricone's classic "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" theme plays. There is silly dubbing over of baby-talk and moaning and groaning to try and make the mechanical sex scene sexy.

His pal tells the next story: just a homosexual threesome featuring John and Frank. A pointless vignette in a bathtub is thrown in next, followed by another couple humping pointlessly.

This episodic structure, verging on wall-to-wall sex crap, has another story: two guys go from a swimming pool indoors to hump by a fireplace. The next supposedly "hot story" has two guys humping in a shower as that old disco version of "Star Wars" theme plays -then they finish their sex scene on a couch.

Finally our two heroes get it on as romantic music plays -evidently the title premise. After their faked passion, final line of the movie is "What a load!!" - how romantic.

It takes more than declaring a screenplay as romantic to make it so. My reaction was simple: "What a load of crap!".

Just for reference: I've seen the producer "S.J. Kaye"'s other two films credited in IMDb and they're even worse than this one.
