Nita Strauss, who recently rejoined Alice Cooper’s band as lead guitarist, has announced a new solo album. The set, titled The Call of the Void, will drop on July 7th via Sumerian Records.
Strauss explained of the album’s new title in a press release, “Have you ever been at the top of a high building and had the fleeting thought, ‘I could jump right now?’ This feeling is sometimes called ‘The Call of the Void,’ also known as ‘high place phenomenon.’ It’s not a suicidal impulse, rather the exact opposite — a subconscious decision to live your life, to step back from the ledge, and take control. As researcher April Smith aptly put it: ‘An urge to jump affirms the urge to live.'”
She continued, “I wanted the follow up to [my debut album] Controlled Chaos to be exciting, new, and fresh, to take listeners to a new place and...

Juice Wrld’s untimely death two years ago did little to snuff out his burgeoning stardom — quite the opposite, in fact. As evidenced by the very existence of Tommy Oliver’s documentary “Juice Wrld: Into the Abyss,” the rapper’s impact on those around him — to say nothing of his legions of fans — continues to be felt today. The film’s vérité, behind-the-scenes look at his trials and tribulations may feel surface-level to those unfamiliar with Juice, but his many admirers will likely consider it essential viewing.
One of the first things we hear Juice say in the film is “I pop Percs to numb all the pain ’cause it hurts to live,” a line delivered with characteristic effortlessness in one of the many freestyle raps he performs. Like just about everything else he ever wrote and recorded, this one is “from the dome” — off the top of his head and not written in advance.

It’s the granddaddy of British cop dramas of the modern era. The most popular English picture of 1950 introduced PC George Dixon, a warm-hearted constable who would become a staple on BBC TV for 21 years. T.E.B. Clarke’s screenplay of a murder manhunt is stocked with actors American fans know well — Dirk Bogarde, Bernard Lee — and some we should know better — Jack Warner, Robert Flemyng, Dora Bryan. The show was made by the top craftsmen of Ealing Studios, and its fast pace and Brit sensibility will definitely impress. And remember — the Bobbies on the beat don’t even carry guns.

If you’re anything like me, you speed-raced through the four parts of Netflix‘s This Is A Robbery: The World’s Biggest Art Heist docu-series, aware that the creators behind the documentary were almost certainly not going to break this 30-year-old cold case wide open, but also desperate to see what conclusions would be drawn. As much as this is a documentary about the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist, it also quickly becomes a story about organized crime in Boston and New England circa 1990, and the methods with which the FBI investigates. Because of this, the final part of This Is A Robbery focuses on the Boston Mafia and the FBI.
Who stole the paintings from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum?
While This Is A Robbery is careful not to make any declarations about who actually pulled the heist, the docu-series does seem to come to the broad conclusion that...

Peter Benchley’s follow-up to Jaws is a treasure hunt thriller starring Robert Shaw and filmed in the pearly waters off Bermuda. The exciting underwater scenes boosted the careers of Nick Nolte and Jacqueline Bisset but the memory that stuck in the minds of millions was a particular wardrobe decision for Bisset’s siren of the deep. Who needs Spanish gold and a fortune in lost morphine? This import disc features a commentary by actress Illeana Douglas.

Exclusive: Screen Gems is developing a feature adaptation of Edwin F. Becker’s book True Haunting which The Call scribe Richard D’Ovidio is writing.
Cindy Cowan has optioned the book, and will produce with Steve Bersch and Scott Strauss overseeing the project. Screen Gems’ Brian Dukes will oversee for the studio.
True Haunting is the terrifying true story of the first televised exorcism on NBC in 1971. Millions around the country watched the program. The NBC news segment was a success, the exorcism was not. Instead, it made things worse for the Becker family who lived there. Much worse.
D’Ovidio (pictured above) is best known for writing The Call starring Halle Berry and The Forger with John Travolta and Christopher Plummer. He also wrote the spec script for Eye In The Sky which sold to Millennium Films in 2015 with Simon West directing.

Actor Woody Harrelson is taking a well earned break after starring in his latest film Scorched - by cutting himself off from civilization. Woody finished shooting in Los Angeles in June, and is now resting in Costa Rica without the modern conveniences of everyday life. Bob Mazza, publicist for Danny Sherman, one of the film's producers, reports that Harrelson is living in a lean-to, unburdened by modern conveniences. Mazza says, "He doesn't even have a cell phone out there." Scorched, which also stars John Cleese and Alicia Silverstone, tracks the lives of several bank tellers and their separate, bumbling schemes to rob their employer.
