This plotless parade of song (with no spoken dialogue) features soprano singing star Gloria Jean. Seeing snow outside her window, Gloria dreams of winter scenes, and the film dissolves to a ski lodge, where singers and dancers entertain. Gloria Jean sings three songs: "Sly Old Gentleman," "Jingle Bells" (with chorus), and "O Tannenbaum" (with special lyrics). Universal reissued JINGLE BELLES in January 1942 as WINTER SERENADE. Virtually all circulating prints derive from the edited, eight-minute home-movie version, titled SNOWTIME SERENADE; in the shorter print Gloria's vocals are intact but some of the guest artists' numbers are either re-edited or deleted.
