- Nathan Lane: I think it's time to bring out Marlon Brando. Mr. Brando, eh... how do you feel the recording session is going?
- Matthew Broderick: [as Brando] What's bein' recorded?
- Nathan Lane: [laughs] I don't know whether you heard, we're, eh, doing a little show called "The Producers."
- Matthew Broderick: [as Brando] But what are you producing? Do you produce the laughs? Cheap hackneyed humor for a public which is 'satiated on pubile dribble...
- Nathan Lane: [more laughter] Well, don't get your kaftan in a twist.
- Matthew Broderick: [as Brando] This kafkan is made entirely of seaweed. Every bit of fabric. It's renewable... renewable and from the sea.
- Nathan Lane: Really?
- Matthew Broderick: [as Brando] I can eat it when I'm done wearin' it.
- Nathan Lane: Here you go. I knew we'd get some entertainment.
- Mel Brooks: See, there were people like Glen Kelly that lived 50 or 60 years ago at MGM. They were called Roger Edens.
- Mel Brooks: Bloom goes back to his desk, gets his coat and hat, and then he says, "Wait a minute! Wait a minute! Bialystock was right! There *is* a lot more to me than there is to me!" which doesn't make any sense but it gets a laugh.
- Nathan Lane: This is the... this is the end of the m- the documentary, is it?
- Mel Brooks: Right.
- Nathan Lane: And now I should turn and fall down the stairs.
