Was made by teenagers Eric Forsberg and Charles Schneider one afternoon when they didn't have anything else to do.
Directors Eric Forsberg and Charles Schneider had been making gory films separately and together since they were eleven years old.
The film was an instant cult hit in the punk clubs of New York, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles (even though the filmmakers were not old enough to actually enter the clubs legally). Copies were made and fans were abundant.
Played every Wednesday night at Max's Kansas City in New York and every Saturday at Exit in Chicago on and off from 1980 to 1984. Crowds chanted "guts, guts, guts, guts..." before the film was about to show.
