The new CBS drama Stalker has just added two more names to its cast, as Warren Kole (The Following, Common Law) and Erik Stocklin (Mistresses) have both landed recurring roles on the first season of Kevin Williamson’s latest project.
Stalker stars Dylan McDermott (Hostages) and Maggie Q (Nikita), both of whom play detectives in the Los Angeles Threat Assessment Unit tasked with investigating cases of stalking. Kole, who has worked with Williamson in the past, will be playing Detective Trent Wilkes, the lead detective in the Robbery Homicide Division of the Lapd who finds himself in a turf war with McDermott’s character, Jack. Stocklin, who had a small part in the pilot as Perry, an introverted college sophomore, will be reprising his role on the show in a multi-episode arc.
McDermott’s most recent roles, aside from his stint on American Horror Story, have been on series that were unfortunately short-lived.

Los Angeles (AP) — Los Angeles police detectives are investigating allegations that embattled singer Justin Bieber tried to steal a cellphone at a family entertainment center. Police spokeswoman Rosario Herrera said Wednesday that a person accused Bieber of trying to take the phone Monday night at the facility that features miniature golf, arcades and batting cages in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood. Police didn't give any other details. Herrera says detectives from the agency's elite Robbery Homicide Division are investigating the allegations. Phone and email messages left with Bieber's attorney, Howard Weitzman, and publicist, Melissa Victor, weren't immediately returned. Prosecutors are still considering whether to file charges against Bieber over an egg-throwing incident in January that damaged a neighbor's home in Calabasas. Copyright © 2014 The Associated Press. Like the double-wide premiere for HBO's Boardwalk Empire, the pilot for the network's new horse-racing series Luck—first broadcast December 11th, and then re-run this past Sunday—represents a meeting of two distinctive authorial voices. In the case of the Boardwalk Empire pilot—a high-water mark of style and efficiency that the frequently-frustrating series has never managed to live up to, aside from a couple of episodes neatly directed by Carpenterite horror specialist Brad Anderson—it was episode director / series executive producer Martin Scorsese and episode writer / series creator Terrence Winter; in the case of Luck, it's episode director / series executive producer Michael Mann and episode writer / series creator David Milch.
The interplay of low-lifes and big spenders in Luck's pilot is distinctly Milch's. It's clear from the episode's structure alone—a lot of jargony horse-racing intrigue spinning around a story about four track regulars who finally win it...

I am a long time Michael Mann fan, even Miami Vice I would mark down as a misunderstood masterpiece. But Mann is not only one of the greatest filmmakers working today, he also knows good television. Whether it be the original Miami Vice series or the hit seventies series Vega$, Mann always had a knack for the small screen. Unfortunately, after the not so great Robbery Homicide Division in ’02, Mann sort of stepped away from television and went back to film full time. That is until Luck came along. And here is the first look at the new HBO series: Series creator David Milch described the pilot as “A bunch of intersecting lives in the world of horse racing.” With a cast boasting the likes of Dustin Hoffman, Dennis Farina, John Ortiz, Nick Nolte and Joan Allen, along with Mann directing the pilot, I would say that Luck won’t need much of itself to succeed.

Make that three stars of "Off the Map" who are now seeking work elsewhere: Zach Gilford has followed Martin Henderson and Rachelle Lefevre into the pilot-season waters.
The former "Friday Night Lights" star is joining Fox's comedy pilot "Iceland," Deadline reports. The show is about a young woman (Kerry Bishe of "Scrubs") whose husband recently died. And yes, we said it's a comedy.
Gilford will play a friend of Bishe's character. If "Off the Map" should somehow return next season, "Iceland" would have to find another actor, but that's not looking especially likely at the moment.
Other casting news from Deadline:
- Eddie Cibrian is replacing Jeff Hephner as the male lead in NBC's period drama "Playboy." Cibrian (late of "CSI: Miami") will play a lawyer and Playboy Club member with possible mob ties in 1960s Chicago. "Firefly's" Sean Maher has also come aboard

Exclusive: In his first regular series role in almost a decade, Tom Sizemore is set to co-star opposite Ethan Hawke in Fox's drama pilot Exit Strategy, a high-octane procedural about a team of five experts associated with the CIA led by Eric Shaw (Hawke) who are deployed when a CIA operation goes bad to extract the ones involved before it's too late. Sizemore will play Jonathan Marks, a veteran CIA spymaster and mentor to Shaw who is the Exit Strategy unit's Logpac (support officer). A man who has been everywhere and done everything, Marks is the man who can get you anything, anywhere, anytime. Sizemore, repped by Global Artists Agency, last did a pilot in 2002, the drama Robbery Homicide Division, which was picked up to series and had a brief run on CBS. NBC will bring "Law & Order: Los Angeles" out of the creative-retooling shop next month.
The series, which went dark in December to reshuffle its cast, will return with a two-hour premiere at 9 p.m. Et Monday, April 11. It settles into its regular 10 o'clock home the following week, taking over the spot currently held by "Harry's Law," which will have ended its season by then.
"We are pleased to welcome 'Law & Order: Los Angeles' back to NBC's regular lineup," NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt says. "['L&O' creator] Dick Wolf and his team have made some exciting creative changes, and we can't wait to re-introduce the show to audiences."
The biggest of those changes is the dismissal of Skeet Ulrich as one of "Lola's" two lead detectives and his replacement by Alfred Molina, who previously played a prosecutor on the show. In the reworked show, Molina's character, Ricardo Morales, has left the district attorney's...

Law & Order: Los Angeles debuted last night with an episode that mashed together three separate pop culture story strands. There was the Bling Ring, that crew of SoCal teenyboppers who burgled celebrity homes by tracking their marks’ whereabouts via the Internet. There was a Brody Jenner-ish reality TV star, an L.A. rich kid who dated his way into pseudo-stardom. (Bizarro-Brody said, “Perez Hilton called me a douche-tard every day for six months,” which is the first and hopefully last time the words “douche-tard” and “Perez Hilton” will ever appear in the L&Overse.) And finally, there was a...

Chicago – With memories of the stalwart “Law & Order” still resonant, NBC and Dick Wolf have packed up their bags and headed to the west coast for “Law & Order: Los Angeles.” Based on the first two episodes, the cast is strong enough that there are likely to be a few very well-done installments but the writing really needs to improve to match the talent on-board or “L.O.L.A.” will quickly head through the same exit door as its legendary TV ancestor.
Television Rating: 3.0/5.0
“Law & Order” (and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent) thrived on pulling episode plots straight from the headlines. The show was an original not only due to its unique “half-cops, half-lawyers” structure but because it seemed fresher than the average stale cop procedural or boring legal drama. “Law & Order: Los Angeles” takes the fiction-from-reality approach to extremes, tackling two instantly-recognizable stories in...

The newest spin-off in the Law & Order franchise, this time based in Los Angeles, will be premiering on Wednesday, September 29 at 10:00 p.m. NBC has released about ten sneak peeks, which we have for you below.
The newest addition to the “Law & Order” brand, “Law & Order: Los Angeles” fuses the classic ripped- from-the-headlines storytelling with the distinctive backdrop of La – delving into the unique attitudes, cultures and crimes of the West Coast. The drama follows Detectives Rex Winters (Skeet Ulrich, “Jericho”) and Tomas “Tj” Jarusalski (Corey Stoll, “Midnight in Paris”) as they pursue cases through the diverse City of Angels.
As members of the Los Angeles Police Department´s elite Robbery Homicide Division, Winters is a straight-shooting ex-marine with a clear-cut world view as stubborn as he is, while “Tj,” who grew up the son of an Oscar-winning Polish cinematographer, knows too well the dark underside that is behind-the-scenes Hollywood.

His experience during the Rodney King Riots — which occurred during his second month on the job — shaped his philosophy on policing. Basically, the world is chaos and people are either good or bad. Tom Sizemore has apologized to his former boss Michael Mann on U.S. TV - admitting he reached his lowest point after the director refused to take his calls following the cancellation of their show "Robbery Homicide Division". The troubled actor has battled substance abuse since the late 1990s, but managed to secure roles in high-profile movies including "Saving Private Ryan" and "Black Hawk Down".
In 2002, he landed a part in Mann's TV cop series "Robbery Homicide Division", which instantly won praise from critics, but the show was canceled after 10 episodes, ending the following year. Although the series failed to compete with rival police program "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" in the ratings, Sizemore is convinced the show was axed following his arrest for assaulting his then-girlfriend, Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss.
And the star insists he reached his darkest days when his boss and pal Mann wouldn't speak to him.

"Deadwood" and "John from Cincinnati" creator David Milch has another project lined up at HBO, this one set in the world of horse racing.
Milch's long-time friend Michael Mann ("Public Enemies," "Heat") is in talks to direct the pilot, called "Luck," the showbiz trade papers report. The show would focus on a character named Ace Bernstein, a well-known railbird at the track who's just finished a prison term for securities violations.
The pilot would be Mann's first TV project since "Robbery Homicide Division," the short-lived CBS series he executive produced in the 2002-03 season. He would also executive produce with Milch and Carolyn Strauss, the former head of HBO Entertainment.
Milch knows the horse-racing world well: He owned numerous thoroughbreds and won two Breeders' Cup races before selling his stock several years ago.

Oh how coincidental. I recently purchased the soundtrack for Michael Mann's The Insider, and not long after we learned about his upcoming HBO series with Deadwood and John from Cincinatti creator David Milch. The series is entitled Luck, and THR describes it as "a provocative look at the world of horse racing and gambling told through a diverse group of characters surrounding a racetrack." Both are exec-producing the project --- with Milch writing and Mann directing the pilot. It's a return to television for Mann, who wrote for television series like Starsky and Hutch and Police Story, and is most well known in TV for exec-producing Miami Vice. He also recently served as exec-producer for Robbery Homicide Division. Milch also tried to get another series started after John from Cincinatti's cancellation --- a cop drama entitled Last of the Ninth. A pilot was made, but according to IMDb, HBO...
