The wait is nearly over! Nearly 15 years after the last series, over ten since the last reunion, and following weeks of teasing, The Fast Show returns next week via the online Foster's Funny comedy channel. Following in the footsteps of Alan Partridge and Vic & Bob, all your favourite characters from Ralph & Ted to Rowley Birkin, Swiss Toni and No Offence are coming back on November 10. Charlie Higson, Arabella Weir, Paul Whitehouse and John Thomson marked the return with a candid chat at London's swanky Hilton hotel on Park Lane and here - in true Fast Show style - are the best super-fast snippets from the press conference. Subtlety and character lift this hilarious comedy above the rest
We get so many American TV shows here in the UK but sadly Saturday Night Live has never been one of them. Over 35 years the show has become a Us institution and a breeding ground for comedy stars, a talent line which Hollywood began exploiting in the late 1970s when SNL players included Chevy Chase, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. Later names to emerge and forge Hollywood careers include Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, Will Ferrell and Tina Fey.
Successful films such as The Blues Brothers and Wayne's World began life as SNL sketches, although it must also be mentioned that so did movie disasters including A Night at the Roxbury, Coneheads and, most recently, MacGruber.
