This is a film that shouldn't be taken too seriously (thats a given) It is funny in the parts that it needs to be so therefore fulfills the criteria 'Comedy Short' and the acting is good too which goes hand in hand with the quirky story.
The style in which 'Eyes Wide Open' was shot really Opened My Eyes (genius!). Alan Entwistle has obviously surrounded himself by the right team which is exactly what every great, aspiring film maker NEEDS to do. Why be a great Director and nestle in to a group of people that are going to make your film look naff? His style mixes modernity with snippets of a classic feel and even quick zooms of a close up give it a 70's cinematic edge. It would seem that he has tread where a lot of good directors wouldn't dare roam. Hats off
