parody of Faces of Death
hoxharding13 July 2007
I saw this film years ago and enjoyed it. If you are a fan of horror films from the 70's, it is a visual trivia game.

They show clips of films like 'Bloodsucking Freaks and other films and pretend they are real.

During one scene of 'Bloodsucking Freaks' the narrator goes "um Yummy."

I do not believe it was meant to be seen as a serious film. It is almost as if the makers started out making one type of film then just decided for parody.

Yes, there are real bits of footage but for the most part-there are just scene from films.

If anyone is upset about this, they are watching the wrong film. They should try for such films as 'Traces of Death','Traces of Death' or other films.

The front of the video box gives the title as "Dying, Last Seconds of Life:" with a colon, implying some sort of subtitle was supposed to follow. The box's spines gives the title as "Dying, Part I", while the back cover lists its title as "Dying Part II: Last Seconds of Life:" with yet another grammatically incorrect colon, along with various other basic spelling errors, like "greif" instead of grief. Didn't anybody even bother to proofread this crap? There are also four technical credits (those from Death Faces IV) which are not listed at any time in this video.

Whatever the bloody hell you wish to call this, as if the first 'Beyond Reality' or 'Dying Last Seconds of Life Part I' or 'Death Faces IV part one', or what ever the hell you want to call that one, as if that one wasn't bad enough there's actually two of these oddly titled videos from hell. So that means we get a second helping of stock footage of death and decay, as well as truckloads of footage ripped off from Bloodsucking Freaks, Snuff, Jungle Holocaust, and who the hell knows what other jungle/ cannibal flicks. From stock footage of Japanese witch doctors, to stock footage of bombings and WWII stock footage of Hitler- mostly presented as silent footage (like the earlier movie) and tries to sound like a documentary about cannibalism, again, while just merely recycling footage from other movies. One sequence looks like a low rent version of the flesh eating cult sequence in the original 'Faces of Death', but nowhere near as effective. Whether this footage is left over from the 1940s through 1960s, or just low rent to begin with is anyone's guess. There are lengthy silent sequences, so the six people who actually watch this monstrosity don't even know what they're watching- maybe the people who assembled this didn't know themselves what it was they were showing here? That is, the footage is silent until about one hour into it when (pause for effect) sound footage finally begins! But don't get too excited, because it's the SAME footage of Bonnie and Clyde, and Dillinger, which was used in the earlier version of 'Beyond Reality part one'- so, this is a bad movie padded with stock footage of itself basically. Then after 72 minutes which seems like 172, the tape just simply stops: with no ending, no copyright even, no nothing.

Like the earlier concoction of a movie, this looks like just a cut and paste video put together by a guy with two VCRs in his living room, and copies of the aforementioned flicks. This is not even worth your time if you're into this sort of thing.

The earlier 'Death Faces IV/ Dying Last seconds of life/ Beyond Reality' was almost amusingly awful, but this extremely rare nonentity of a sequel is just annoying.
