fluffy
movieman_kev7 June 2005
This is just a "Spotlight on Location" episode featuring said movie. If you're not familiar with said show, it's a thing that one of the premium movie channels play between movies sometimes when a film is coming out in the theaters soon. So needless to say, it's leaning more towards a fluff promo piece to get people to see the movie than anything else. Not very informative, but it's always cool to see Schwarzenegger in interviews if nothing else (even his audio Commentaries are great, just listen to the one on "Conan the Barbarians" DVD if you don't believe me) This can be found as an extra on the DVD of "End of Days"

My Grade: D

Aw, come on, it ain't THAT bad!
MovieAddict201616 November 2004
The movie pretty much sucked but that's not to say this documentary is all that bad. Yeah, it's about as mediocre as the movie was -- but 1.8/10 stars?! C'mon! I admit that Peter Hyams is one of the worst directors of all time (he even messed up The Star Chamber) and this is merely a star-studded promotion for the film used as a tie-in but...isn't that the POINT?

Interviews with Ah-nuld are sort of insightful, and at least let us know what in heck he was thinking when he signed up for this. Screenwriter tells us that he approached Arnie with the concept in '96/'97 and wanted to add a new perspective.

Problem is, of course, Arnie can't really play "human" everyday characters because...well...everyday Joe Schmoes aren't Mr. Olympias -- it makes me wonder how often his character in "End of Days" supposedly works out at a gym...seeing how he drinks peer and pizza shakes and apparently sleeps all day...

Arnie the slob?!

"Arnold is so great to work with". Clear off!
bazmitch234 September 2015
This is yet another one of those dull featurettes where everyone praises each other.

"Arnold is great to work with," "Gabriel is great to work with", "Kevin is great to work with"..........UGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

The only interesting thing I learned was the film originally ended with Arnold's character blowing the devil away.

"But we thought there was something wrong with that ending," said Arnold.

Well, at least Arnold has some sense in him, rather than having an ego the size of his muscles.

The DVD featurettes on the special effects are more interesting than this tripe. With them, at least we learn about the actual making of the film.
