For more than 22 years, Kelly Ripa has had a few “TV husbands” — but today, her real-life husband, Mark Consuelos, becomes her official co-host on “Live.”
Ripa and Consuelos have been married for nearly 27 years, and have worked together for their entire relationship. But they never planned for it to be that way.
The couple first met in the ’90s on the soap opera “All My Children.” From the day Ripa became co-host of “Live With Regis and Kelly” in 2001, Consuelos would appear on the talk show, whether it be as a guest co-host or for a Valentine’s Day special, and America has watched their three now-adult children grow up on television. They have acted together on each other’s shows, playing lovers on the sitcom “Hope & Faith” and the CW’s “Riverdale.” And they run their own production company together, Milojo, which takes after the first two letters...

Consuelos joins Ripa as her full-time co-host on Monday, April 17, after many years of guest appearances on the beloved morning talk show. But these two are no strangers to working together. Through co-starring on soap operas, Hope & Faith, and Riverdale, the pair, as Ripa shares above, has learned to “keep work at work, and we keep home at home.” “It’s like don’t go to bed mad, now it’s don’t go to work mad,” Consuelos teases. Kelly Ripa has spent 22 years as the host of a single daytime talk show, now earning a salary in the range of $20 million a year. She not only got movie-star rich as the co-host of “Live!”; she’s part of TV history, in a league of legends — Regis Philbin, Phil Donahue, Jerry Springer and Oprah Winfrey — who changed TV as they greeted millions of stay-at-home moms and dads each day.
Following in Winfrey’s footsteps wasn’t a path that the actress born and raised in New Jersey dreamed for herself. When Ripa joined Philbin on “Live!” in February 2001, after a fierce nationwide search to replace Kathie Lee Gifford, she was a bubbly soap-opera star best known for her years on “All My Children.” Since then, Ripa has maintained a cheerful (but not plastic) persona as she steered “Live!,” the most-watched syndicated talk show on TV, through divisive moments in...

In the mood for a good haunting but don’t want to be scared?
Then, you might want to check out the new trailer for We Have a Ghost. The comedy is a Netflix original starring the streaming service’s Stranger Things star, David Harbour, and Anthony Mackie. The movie looks to have a fun twist on the typical tropes of a family moving into a new home in a new town that knows of rumors of an apparition in said home. The official Netflix synopsis reads,
“Ernest the ghost, discovered by the homeowner who named him that because the apparation looks like Ernest Borgnine. The homeowner Frank, begins filming his ghost and posting it for the world to see on social media. Ernest becomes a viral sensation.

Exclusive: Mark Consuelos has joined the cast of HBO Max’s The Girls on the Bus in a recurring role.
Consuelos will portray a major Hollywood action star-turned-politician who joined the presidential race after a Twitter poll said 46 percent of Americans would vote for him — regardless of party affiliation.
From writers Amy Chozick and Julie Plec, The Girls On The Bus centers on Sadie McCarthy (Melissa Benoist), a journalist who romanticizes Tim Crouse’s Boys on the Bus book and who scrapped her whole life for her own shot at covering a presidential campaign for the paper of record. Sadie hits the trail and eventually bonds with three female competitors, Grace (Carla Gugino), Lola (Natasha Behnam), and Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore). Despite their differences, the women become a found family with a front-row seat to the greatest soap opera in town: the battle for the White House.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2010, have three sons together, Noah, 6, Bodhi, 4, and Journey River, 2. But, according to a recent Instagram post by Marcil, Kassius has "never met" his youngest brother and that Green and Fox "completely cut Kass out of their lives" five years ago. "12 years ago I was served legal papers and then spent 8 years+ defending myself and my son in...

Writer-producers John Hoberg and Kat Likkel have signed a two-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV.
Under the seven-figure pact, the writing duo will continue on the studio-produced comedy My Name Is Earl, where they will be elevated to co-exec producers next season, and will take crack at developing their own shows.
"'Earl' is one of the most distinctive comedies on the air, and Kat and John have been a big part of its success from the beginning," 20th TV chairman Dana Walden said. "They're incredibly talented and they bring their own quirky, offbeat sensibility to everything they write."
Hoberg and Likkel, who are married, became a writing team in 2003, shortly before they landed their first job together on ABC's Hope & Faith.
In the spring of 2005, looking for their next gig, they read all network pilots and immediately responded to Earl. Hoberg and Likkel loved the script so much, they turned down several jobs hoping and praying that they would get on Earl.
"It could've been the worst or the best decision we've even made," Hoberg said.

Several pilots have received a second lease on life after the options on their actors were extended.
The principal casts of ABC's comedies The Middle and The Hill and Fox's dramedy Nurses have been extended. Also extended were two of the leads of Fox's The Cure, Oded Fehr and Anson Mount. If the Warner Bros. TV-produced medical drama is picked up to series, it is expected to undergo retooling.
Middle, from WBTV, is a single-camera family comedy starring Ricki Lake.
It is not clear how a potential starring role on a primetime series would effect Lake's chances to join ABC's The View as a co-host. Since both shows are owned by ABC, she could follow the lead of Kelly Ripa, who simultaneously starred on ABC's sitcom Hope & Faith and co-hosted ABC's Live With Regis and Kelly.
Hill, also from WBTV, is a multicamera comedic soap set in Washington starring Michelle Trachtenberg, Eric Christian Olsen and Wendie Malick.
The new comedy series that ABC has picked up so far for next season -- Cavemen, Carpoolers and Samantha Who? -- are all single-camera.
