The wedding dress isn't the be-all and end-all for a bride on her big day. She needs—well, at least I need—the perfect hairstyle, manicure and makeup too. Right now, I'm focused on finding my dream makeup look. And thanks to some help from brilliant makeup artist, Alexis Ellen, I've narrowed it down to three. The first is a sun kissed effect, which is very natural-looking and includes a bright, light eye and rosy pink lip. Next, is a classic Hollywood glamour look with cat-eye and bold red lipstick. And lastly, a more sultry style, featuring a smoky eye, bronzed skin and nude lip. Shout out to my amazing hair stylist Julie Ferrante for giving me three truly special bridal...

While fans eagerly await Game of Thrones’ fifth season, they can bide their time with an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from the making of season 4.
Got costume designer Michele Clapton and Natalie Dormer explain the intricate detail and runway-ready appeal of the clothes worn in the show, particularly in the famous Purple Wedding scene.
“The wedding dress is a piece of haute couture,” Dormer says of Margaery Tyrell’s bridal outfit. “It’s stunning and it deserves to be on a catwalk.”
The dress was so popular that the episode’s director, Alex Graves, changed the shot to showcase Clapton’s design. “He never ever changed a shot for a costume designer before but because it looked so good he did,” Clapton says.
The clip comes from an exclusive Target Blu Ray/DVD extra, Silk, Leather & Chain Mail, which provides an in-depth look into all the intricately-designed costumes of season 4.

Being a princess isn’t all regal ceremony and ruffled dresses. (Well, sometimes it is, but we’ll get to that later.) Just ask Aussie actress Adelaide Kane, who’s begun filming the second season of her royal role as Mary, Queen of Scots in The CW series Reign. With the promise of plague, famine, a royal coronation, baby mama drama, sex, death, and more sex, it seems like the royally salacious drama is prepared to set hearts racing—and that’s just in the first few episodes. Given the over-riding image of professional wrestling as muscle-bound men, glistening in the sparkle of arena lights, and bathed in the adulation of a braying Colosseum crowd, it’s hard to really think about the sports entertainment industry as a feminine thing. Yes, some of the less large men have long hair, and some are pretty well groomed, but they’re still whooping, sweating behemoths who put their bodies on the line every week.
But Vince McMahon has always made sure to keep at least some balance, pushing the WWE Divas as much as possible, with a twinkle in his eye, and mischief in his creative decisions.
If there’s one thing McMahon knows, it’s how to get the best out of his company, and he knows for a fact that sexy moments, even in the blunted PG Era make fans’ blood pump a little faster. So even...

There is a problem with the costumes in The Wolf of Wall Street, and it has nothing to do with the film itself but the coverage they have received. Namely, that this coverage is incorrect. Articles such as this one for Vogue France, or this for The Hollywood Reporter, or a ‘suit guide’ by Esquire, concentrate almost solely on Giorgio Armani’s contribution to the project with barely a mention of costume designer Sandy Powell. And this is the Sandy Powell by the way: 10 Oscar nominations and so well respected she has an OBE for services to the industry. It was Powell who costumed The Wolf of Wall Street, not Armani. As a matter of fact there are only two Armani suits featured in the film, the light greyish one worn by Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) when he snorts crack with Donnie Azoff (Jonah Hill) near the start of the story,...

If you’re not watching BBC 2’s gangster western Peaky Blinders, stop reading now and seek it out on iPlayer – there’s still one episode left so you have time to join the party. Peaky Blinders is the slow burning tale of a volatile, family led criminal gang, headed by calculating brother Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy), and their rise to power in post-World War I Birmingham. It does not sound glamorous and it isn’t, yet is all the more compelling for embracing the filthy side of what many considered to be the cusp of the ‘Roaring Twenties’. Not in Birmingham it wasn’t.
Thankfully Peaky Blinders had costume designer Stephanie Collie (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Look of Love) on board to recreate this era in, her own words, “a heightened way”. Peaky Blinders is not intended for school history lessons, it’s a ‘Hollywoodised’ vision of 1919 with a TV budget.

As is often the way with costume designers, Stephanie Collie is something of an unsung hero. We will not reel off her entire back catalogue, but it does include South Riding (2011, TV), Telstar (2008) Peter’s Friends (1992) and perhaps most exciting of all, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998).
Now, anyone old enough to remember when Lock, Stock arrived will remember just what an incredible influence its Mod inspired costumes had on the world of fashion. You could not pick up a men’s magazine of the time without seeing some guy in slim trousers and a jersey polo shirt. Stephanie Collie invented this look, thus providing one of the clearest examples of how costume design can transcend a movie and become something more. We would go so far as to say Stephanie Collie helped define an era.

London (AP) — Amy Winehouse's charity says two of the late singer's dresses — including her wedding dress — are missing and believed stolen from her former London home.
The Amy Winehouse Foundation said Thursday the dress Winehouse wore for her 2006 Miami wedding to Blake Fielder-Civil and a newsprint cocktail dress she wore during a British TV appearance are both missing. The presumed theft was discovered during an inventory.
The wedding dress was to have been auctioned off for the charity, established to help young people overcome addiction.
The singer's father, Mitch Winehouse, told the Evening Standard it was "sickening that someone would steal something in the knowledge of its sentimental value."
Winehouse, the Grammy-winning "Back to Black" singer, died from alcohol poisoning on July 23, 2011, at the age of 27.

Two dresses belonging to Amy Winehouse have been stolen from her home. The late singer's wedding dress and a cocktail outfit she once wore on TV were taken from her home in Camden, London. The dresses were worth around £130,000 ($$210,043) in total. Father Mitch Winehouse described the theft as "a blow", as they were going to be auctioned to raise money for the Amy Winehouse Foundation. "It's sickening that someone would steal something in the knowledge of its sentimental value," he told The Sun. Winehouse's white anchor-pattern cotton dress was worn at her wedding to Blake Fielder-Civil in Miami in 2006. Meanwhile, the newsprint cocktail dress was worn by the star when she appeared on Jools Holland's Later show the same year. I watched a bit a marathon of Say Yes to the Dress from TLC last week.
As a financial planner, my first reaction to the show was wanting to scream, "Don't Watch The Show!" as it will skew your perception of how much a wedding dress should cost. I don't think I saw a budget less than $3,000! And all for what? One day of make believe and grand delusions? Ask yourself, do you remember what dress the brides wore at a wedding you have attended two years ago?
To be fair, the whole show is not completely without merit. After a few episodes I started to see how the process of choosing 'the right' dress can be a metaphor for making any emotionally-charged financial decision. I see many of the same pitfalls arise every day as a
financial planner. There were:
Those who want everything but aren't willing to pay...

For those of you that have been wanting the guys to get more screen time, "The Wedding Dress" was your episode. Lots of Billy, Nick and Jeremy to go around!
Even though Billy was meeting up with Nick because Jane asked him to (does he ever tell her "no?"), it was a blast to see him away from her. We have seen him interact with Lulu, his brother, and even Ben, but always in limited ways.
Billy and Nick on the surface are from different worlds, but Nick's mention that Billy doesn't know the whole story leads me to wonder, what is Nick's story? Of all people, Billy should know that the the outside appearance isn't the person. Didn't he learn anything from his "transformation." That mystery is for another day.
It was entertaining to watch the wall between them and the awkwardness disappear as they got to know each other better.

Walk the Aisle Like Kristen Stewart in Breaking Dawn
So, what does Kristen Stewart wear as Bella Swan, walking down the aisle at last to join Robert Pattinson’s dreamy Edward Cullen in holy matrimony? I won’t just describe the luscious gown to you by way of a tiny, tiny spoiler alert, if you have yet to enjoy Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, part one, but I’ll also fill you in on the good news that can pertain to your very own fairy tale wedding, ladies!
The gown was beautiful and well worth the wait. In a wedding sequence under the shade of a white-flowered tree, in the back yard of the Cullen house, Bella clutches Charlie’s arm deliriously as they walk down the aisle toward Edward. She’s a mess of nerves. No, she isn’t as gorgeous as an immortal, but her dress is worthy of one.

The wedding dresses worn by Dame Elizabeth Taylor for her two trips down the aisle with Richard Burton will be sold off later this year as part of an auction of her clothes and accessories.
The gowns will be among a collection of 400 dresses, handbags and shoes that will go under the hammer at Christie's auction house in New York December.
The wedding dresses, worn when she married Burton in 1964 and again in 1975, will be the highlights of the sale, along with an outfit Taylor wore to the Academy Awards in 1992. The wedding dress from 1964 is expected to fetch between $40,000 (£26,667) and $60,000 (£40,000), according to the Afp.
Meredith Etherington-Smith of Christie's says, "Many of the pieces in this lifetime collection were couture, custom made for Ms Taylor by designers who became her close friends."
The sale will take place on 14-15 December following an auction of Taylor's jewellery. The Hollywood legend passed away in March at the age of 79.

Kristen Stewart is W's September cover girl! The Twilight star shows off a sultry look in dramatic makeup for the fashion mag as she gears up for the Fall release of the final installment in the series. Kristen already landed on the front of Entertainment Weekly in character with Robert Pattinson, and the costars were also shown getting intimate in another still from the movie. She recently switched gears to get to work on Snow White and the Huntsmen in London, but Kristen stayed focused on her vampire role during the interview. Here's more from Kristen Stewart in W magazine, and don't miss Kristen's W screen test video: On vampires: "I f*cking love me a vampire. I was 17 when I read Twilight, and at the time it was so perfect for me. The script was about young kids who think they can handle stuff that they just can’t.
