As Easter Sunday approaches this weekend, we thought we’d “die” your eggs a little a differently. That is, we’re on the great hidden treasure hunt for some of the most colorful and delicious horror movie Easter eggs found in some of our favorite titles. But here’s the thing. We aren’t talking about obscure cameos from people that are hard to miss, or even secretive foreshadowing within a single movie, a la the entire Final Destination franchise. Nor are we talking about mere verbal references to other horror movies. Rather, we’re interested in visual crossover clues found one horror movie that pay homage to another, found tucked away in the background or even hidden in plain sight. You see the distinction. Good. Hopefully you haven’t already seen what’s to follow. Happy holiday y’all, here’s our Top 10 Favorite Crossover Horror Movie Easter Eggs!

Before Mary Elizabeth Winstead played the roles of comic book-based Ramona Flowers and John McClane’s daughter, she starred as Lee Montgomery in Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof. At the time, Winstead was making her mark in the horror slasher genre, even leading the ensemble cast of Final Destination 3. When she got the audition call for Death Proof, Winstead pulled off one little trick to get past the audition stage.

Winstead shared that she wore flip-flops to the audition to tap into the director’s alleged cinematic foot fetish. The Fargo actress managed to impress Tarantino with her take on Lee, rather than use her foot to get cast in the film.

If Taylor Swift were a cricketer, she would have been a lethal left-arm spinner. Many of us thought Miss Swift would be practicing those kicks with NFL star and boyfriend Travis Kelce, but it turned out she had been gripped by cricket fever all along. Hehe, not really!
Well, Tay may or may not be a cricket fan, but the internet has us all believing the songstress would be giving Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav a neck-to-neck competition if she were to take cricket as a career option. If you are wondering what exactly we are talking about, we suggest you scroll ahead.
It all began after a candid picture of Taylor Swift from her Eras Tour went viral. In the widely circulated picture, the ‘Willow’ singer’s hand gesture looked more like a left-arm spin bowling motion,...

Cate Blanchett and Coco Francini, who are partners in Dirty Films, along with Dr. Stacy L. Smith and the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative have launched the Proof of Concept Accelerator Program.
Supported by Netflix, the program’s goal is to identify the next generation of filmmaking talent whose stories promote the perspectives of women, trans, and nonbinary people.
According to the latest annual report from Smith and Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, 6% of directors across 1,600 top-grossing movies were women and less than one-third of all speaking characters on screen in those movies were girls, women, trans or non-binary people. This lack of inclusion behind the camera and on screen means there are limited career opportunities for women, trans, and non-binary storytellers and those who want to bring their stories to the screen.

The big new release of the weekend is the prequel film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes which is currently tracking for a $50 million domestic opening. That number would make it the first Hunger Games film to open under $100 million at the domestic box office with the last film in the franchise, 2015’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2 previously being the lowest at $102.6 million. The good news for this prequel that features the origins of President Snow (played by Donald Sutherland in the earlier films) is that it cost a modest (by today’s standards) $100 million. So with an opening in that $50 million range plus good word of mouth, this one has the potential to leg out over the holidays.

Schmidt.
Gathegi will play Carl, an intense bureaucrat and loyalist of De Niro’s former U.S President George Mullen.
Falling under a deal between Netflix and Newman’s Grand Electric Productions, Zero Day asks the question, how do we find truth in a world in crisis, one seemingly being torn apart by forces outside our control? And in an era rife with conspiracy theory and subterfuge, how much of those forces are products of our own doing, perhaps even of our own imagining?

Russell Crowe is one of the biggest movie stars of his generation, finding equal success in Oscar-nominated dramas and comic book blockbusters. But while he has always made a point of pursuing roles in a wide range of genres, the actor is still annoyed by what he sees as attempts by the Australian film industry to typecast him early in his career.

Werner died Tuesday morning in Wilmington, North Carolina, his younger brother, Tom Werner (producer on The Cosby Show, Roseanne, That ’70s Show, The Conners), told The Hollywood Reporter. “He had a torn aorta that the doctors weren’t able to repair. So sudden,” he wrote in an email.

Jeff Titus, who has spent 21 years in prison for the murder of two deer hunters in 1990, is a free man thanks to evidence discovered by a true-crime series and podcast.
Titus, a 71-year old man, left Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater, Michigan, in part due to Investigation Discovery’s Killer In Question and Susan Simpson’s podcast Undisclosed.
It marks the latest innocent man to be freed as a result of the boom in interest in true-crime projects.
Titus’ conviction was overturned by U.S. Federal District Court Judge Paul D. BTS has been nominated for hundreds of awards throughout their career. While their music has been getting recognized in South Korea since their debut in 2013, it wasn't until four years later that they began to really make waves in the United States. It all started in May 2017 when the septet took home the award for Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards. The achievement catapulted BTS to even greater fame in the Western music industry because, the following year, they not only earned another Bbma, but an American Music Award, People's Choice Award, iHeartRadio Music Award, and more. Since then, BTS has only added to their extensive award show collection in the U.S.

South Korean defence minister says that it would be “difficult” to extend an alternate form of military service to BTS due to “aspects of fairness”.
Last month, Busan’s mayor asked South Korea’s president to exclude BTS from mandatory military service so they can help support the city’s bid to host the World Expo in 2030.
Park Heong-joon told president Yoon Suk-yeol that “without solving the military service issue, BTS actively promoting Busan’s bid for the Expo might be impossible”.
He told the president that the global event is a “dire necessity” for Busan.
Busan’s mayor said he was asking for an alternative “national responsibility as heavy as the mandatory military service” for the famous K-Pop band.
However, during a conference at the National Assembly held on Monday (19 September), South Korean defence minister Suh Wook said that it would be “difficult” to extend this alternative programme to...

Notably, Renaissance — Beyoncé’s seventh solo No. 1 album — is the first album released by a woman in 2022 to top the Billboard 200. The last woman at No. 1 was Adele with 30, which ruled for its first six weeks on the list (charts dated Dec. 4, 2021 to Jan. 8, 2022). Notably, both 30 and Renaissance were released via Columbia Records (with Renaissance issued through Parkwood/Columbia).
Renaissance is Beyoncé’s seventh solo studio album, and first since the chart-topping Lemonade in 2016. Since then, she teamed with husband Jay-Z on The Carters’ Everything Is Love (2018), released Homecoming: The...

It is hard not to be entertained by QT8: The First Eight, a feature-length documentary chronicling the first eight films written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, featuring interviews with the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Kurt Russell, Jamie Foxx, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. The clips are a reminder of the still-startling brilliance of Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, the slow-burn sensuality of Jackie Brown, and the two-part powerhouse that is Kill Bill. Significant time is spent on Inglorious Bastards and Django Unchained, and two films most in need of reappraisal—Death Proof and The Hateful Eight—are given proper respect.
As the title lays out, do not, however, expect insight into Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood as the ninth film from Tarantino is barely mentioned. Considering that Hollywood might be the finest film of his career, one imagines a supplement to the documentary might already be around the corner.

The Australian director’s book Unconditional Love stresses a fabulous career is never as important as being a good human
What do a blind photographer and a bad-arse seamstress have in common? They are both unforgettable protagonists of Australian films played by A-list actors – Hugo Weaving in 1991’s Proof and Kate Winslet in 2015’s The Dressmaker respectively – and titanic figures in the oeuvre of the director Jocelyn Moorhouse.
Critics raved about Proof – a beautifully constructed character study with an impressive early supporting performance from Russell Crowe – and audiences lapped up The Dressmaker, turning the director’s madcap adaptation of Rosalie Ham’s novel into the 13th most successful Australian film of all time at the local box office.

Happy 46th birthday to Oscar-winning actress, food writer, businesswoman and singer Gwyneth Paltrow! She is the daughter of the late esteemed TV producer Bruce Paltrow (“St. Elsewhere) and the Emmy and Tony-winning actress Blythe Danner. But Gwyneth was determined to carve out her own path in life and that she certainly has achieved in the movies.
Paltrow starred in the 1998 surprise Best Picture winner “Shakespeare in Love,” for which she won the Academy Award as Best Actress. She also earned a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards (for Best Actress and Best Ensemble) for that performance. She also picked up a second Globe nomination for her work playing a mathematician in 2005’s “Proof.”
Paltrow has gone on to create the successful lifestyle magazine Goop and has become a highly-respected writer on the food scene. In honor of this multi-talented lady on her big day, let’s...
